Heading North from Torrey I turned off I15 and headed toward Promontory, UT. This is the location of the Golden Spike National Historic Site which is where the Central Pacific and the Union Pacific RR's met to complete the transcontinental RR. They have replicas of the 2 steam locomotives which were present at the driving of the last spike in 1869. They fire them up and do run-bys, which was pretty neat.
