Mar 29, 2016 - Neat Retreat

Well after another nite of 18F temps with blowing snow we arose early to try and get ahead of this lousy weather. Luckily we had the slides in, water in our onboard tank and RV antifreeze in any line that might get cold. The furnace chugged away all nite to keep us warm and the lines luckily are all in enclosed areas that are heated by the furnace. we both had a good nite at Cactus so made the cold morning more acceptable. As we pointed the rig northward again I was hoping the forecast I had read was good. After about 100 miles of...

New route 15/16

Mar 24, 2015 - Neat Retreat

Another leisurely drive today as we continue westward. The day started cold and snowy with freezing rain for our departure. As we crested another summit approx. 6000" the conditions improved. When we were approx. 20 miles south of Twin Falls suddenly the landscape switched to green fields with trees and animals and real dirt with lakes and rivers for the eyes to enjoy. Then when we stopped for the day we discovered that the clocks had gone ahead an hour as we headed west, I've never heard of this before but we were told we would go back an...

Now I have to type somethign to the very end of this line to see if it ...and it does automatically wrap for me on the text editing page. So what happens to all this now that I click on save? So i click on save and the spacing between paragraphs disappears. Now I will save this and exit it and view my entry so I can see if the spaces between paragraphs is there when I view on the web. Jul 16, 2009 - Fruitland, ID

On our way to OR from Ketchum, ID, we made a lunch stop at a roadside rest area where we had a great view of Route 20 and the valley ahead of us. Route 20 followed a river for most of the trip. There were many great views along this desolate desert area. We stayed over-night at the Neat Retreat Campground in Fruitland, ID, on the border of OR. We had nice shade trees, the site was level and wide.

Oct 5, 2008 - Day 126

Day 126, Oct 4, Today’s Plan; Drive to Ontario, OR. We are up and gone in a timely manner, under low hanging clouds. It rained during the night and some damn cat thought it would be drier on the roof of the cab. The rain did wash the dust off for us. I have avoided washing it for fear the weather would change. I guess it would be okay to wash it now. We follow our route of last night to the Crater Park. We pass the gate and find the lava field extends many miles to the west too. We drive on in and out of showers. We thought we would see...

Jul 9, 2008 - Travel day; ID to Oregon state line

Today we drove from Twin Falls, Idaho to Fruitland, Idaho which is right at the Oregon state line. Today's drive was not nearly as pretty as the day before. We did see parts of the Snake River though. We made a planned stop in Boise to visit the Cabela's there. We all got a pair of amphibious type shoes that we can wear to hike and go tide pooling on the Oregon Coast. It is kind of a tradition for us each to get a new piar of hiking shoes during our summer stops at a Cabela's. We are staying at a little RV park called Neat Retreat RV park...

Georgia to Oregon!

Apr 24, 2008 - Idaho

We stopped in Fruitland, ID tonight. After a night of very little sleep due to the rain on the roof last night, we decided we needed a nap. After SO many days of sun and warmth, it is hard to get used to 40 and less degrees outside. We only had rain during the morning drive. The sun has come out now, the birds are singing, and the cat is pacing. We are back among the trees and grass and greenery. Quite a change from our winter haven. But beautiful, just the same.
