We were on the road by 9:15 this morning, heading EAST on I-90 through the unique state of Washington. Yesterday, we were enjoying the beauty of it's mountain range and fruit fields, today we drove through it's flat plains. We crossed the Columbia River again and stopped to enjoy this higher view as it flowed down from Canada. Check out those horses, they almost don't look real...that's because they aren't. I-90 impressed us by the way they had signs on the fences identifying each crop. We really enjoyed this. We saw alfalfa, sweet corn,...

Jul 8, 2008 - North Dakota Bound !
Irma drove the coach to a rest stop in Boardman, OR while Cal had a business meeting in Portland. In the afternoon, we hooked up in Boardman and headed North toward Spokane. We made much better progress than expected, but made the poor choice of stopping for the night at a rest area just inside Idaho that was also a truck scales. Semi trucks were rolling in and out ALL night long ! Almost no sleep, but a valuable lesson learned. Pick your rest stops carefully.
