Oct 30, 2020 - A windy start to the day...
The weather report in Kennewick last night mentioned some wind for today. It was blowing pretty good when we got underway at 0830. And it was blowing southwest so we were driving right into it. So there went the fuel mileage, but after about 30 minutes it started to get better and then it wasn't to much of an issue the rest of the day. Yea! Thank you God for adjusting the weather! And this morning we were prepared for cold weather and it was 58 degrees! So it was a nice surprise and I was definitely over dressed today with long sleeves and...

Sep 23, 2020 - We are in smoky Idaho
We were up and underway early this morning at 0830. Maybe a bit to early as we got into some of the morning commuter traffic. Last nights campground was nice but they pack you in pretty tight. You could hear someone cough beside you! You never know who you will get parked next to. Sometimes super crabby people and sometimes delightful. We had one of each. When we arrived, We couldn't pull completely into our spot as the lady next door had her car in the way, in our spot no less.(Our truck was hanging out in the road.) So I went over and...

Aug 21, 2020 - Ponderosa and McCall
This is a short entry about our stay in McCall, Idaho. McCall is a mountain resort town located a couple hours north of Boise at about 5000’ elevation. Large, blue and beautiful Lake Payette is McCall’s showcase. It is a popular and fantastic place to visit. We stayed in the (full-hookup) RV campground in Ponderosa State Park. This State Park should be the model for all State Parks! It is situated on a 2 mile peninsula that juts into Lake Payette. The lake is large enough to accommodate all the water sports - fishing, swimming, kayaking...

Aug 16, 2020 - Eastbound in the heat....
Hi everyone! Yes, the Kramer's are on the road again. As many of you know we have been planning a trip to the east coast for awhile but then the virus hit. That stupid virus has ruined a lot of plans, including ours. So we decided to take a modified trip instead. Our first goal is to our appointment at the Motorhome factory in Nappanee, Indiana. We have some warranty work that needs to be done, and since it is kinda specialized we thought we should go to the source. Plus Spike and I have always wanted to see the how they build the RVs at...

Aug 13, 2020 - ROCK AND RELAX
We’ve had a bit of trouble with our Internet, so I have two “stops” worth of pictures and stories in this blog! Heber City, Utah is quickly becoming one of my favorite places. Heber City is northeast of Provo, Utah in the Wasatch Mountains. The town is surrounded by spectacular mountain peaks and beautiful, blue lakes. Mountain Valley RV Park (where we stayed) was a perfect 10. We reserved a week’s stay in the “Adult Only” section - which had its own pool, hot tub, grassy dog park and gym. We spent the week catching up on chores, RV...

Aug 8, 2020 - Ice and Lava
Good evening all. Today was a long day. We drove about 40 miles up the road to the Shoshone Ice Caves. Due to the numerous amount of stairs, Rob and I decided not to take the tour but Scott and Lori did. The Ice Cave is about 1,700 feet long, 50 feet wide and 45 feet in height. The ice block is about 1,000 feet long and varies from 8- 30 feet in depth. Temperatures vary from 23 to 33 degrees year round. They both really enjoyed the tour. Afterwards we headed a little over an hour North East to Carey, ID to visit the Craters of the Moon. It...

Aug 7, 2020 - Shoshone Falls
Today was a nice leisurely day. We slept in and hung around camp in the morning. In the afternoon we headed to the Perrine Bridge. It is a large truss arch bridge that crosses the snake river. It is the eight highest bridge in the Untied States sitting 486 above the snake river and measuring at 1,500 feet in length and a main span of 993 feet. To the East is the dirt ramp used by Evel Knievel’s failed jump. The bridge is also used for BASE jumpers. There were a few of them at the bridge but the wind did not allow them to jump but we did...

Aug 6, 2020 - We’re off
We left the house around 7:00am. We had a long day ahead of us. We drove about 460 miles. We had some strong winds, a little rain and some hills. We made it to camp around 3:50 PDT. We will be staying here in Jerome, ID for three nights. Tomorrow we will go to Shoshone falls. Let the fun begin. Good night for now.

Jun 21, 2020 - Island Park ID
The rain decided to continue into Wednesday but we had reservations at a campground about 2 hours further north near Island Park, Idaho so we left Fort Hall in moderate rain and some pretty stiff winds...so much for having the coach washed in Las Vegas. At least the wind was from the southwest so it was mostly a tailwind as we headed northish on U.S. 20 for about 2½ hours; a little longer than anticipated thanks to the weather and a fuel stop. Our campground just happens to be about 20 minutes west of a certain national park that occupies...

Jun 17, 2020 - Fort Hall ID
On Monday we took off to explore the area of Blackfoot and Idaho Falls, then we did a scenic drive northeast of there towards the Wyoming border and back home. In Blackfoot we visited what will long be remembered as one of the highlights of our entire RV travel time. We spent about an hour wandering in total awe and amazement at the Idaho Potato Museum https://idahopotatomuseum.com/. OK, while part of that may be a slight embellishment, we really were there about an hour. It was, as I’m sure you can imagine, a series of displays on the...

Jun 14, 2020 - Fort Hall ID
We haven’t been doing as much hiking as we normally do – hmm, I wonder why? - and thanks to that, I’m in the most shape of my life...not the best, just the most. So when the weather and our schedules allow we try to find somewhere to waddle around. On Sunday, Michele found 2 hikes for us to do in the beautiful, cool air around Williams and Flagstaff. Our first stop was along historic Route 66 east of Williams where we did the short hike to see the petroglyphs at the Keyhole Sinks. The just over 2 mile round trip trail was a little rocky in...

Apr 22, 2020 - We're Getting closer to home...
Up again at 0630 and underway at 0800. I guess we have fallen into a traveling routine. It was 30 degrees in Ely this morning, and as I took Miss Zoey out for her walk I must admit it was kinda refreshing! Spike even agreed with me. So today it is cold, sunny and clear out, and the scenery is all Mountains and plains. And just two lanes in front of us. This is not a busy road, so we mostly just see truckers and ranchers today. But the snow is pretty in the mountains. We stopped at the Loves truck stop in Wells, Nevada to top off our fuel....
