May 27, 2013 - Happy Memorial Day!
We got on the road about 8:30 and it was 59 degrees, we traveled up I-84 out of Utah and into Idaho, traffic has been a little heavy especially in the bigger towns, but better than if it was a normal weekday not holiday. We fueled up in Tremonton, UT paying $3.78 and we got a 11.5 mpg, WOO HOO, Buddy said that’s the most ever, he didn’t even get that with the Dodge, we must have had some wind behind us. We needed some supplies so we stopped at Wal Mart in Jerome, Idaho and then decided to have Pizza Hut for lunch, and stopped for the day in...

Once again we stopped at Ambassador RV Park in Caldwell, ID for $33/night. This has become one of our favorite RV Parks and we stop here any time we go through this area. I-84 construction is pretty much done, thank goodness and Franklin Blvd. is also complete so getting in and out of the park is much nicer. I-84 is smoother. Another chance to sit outside this afternoon. We are stretching it out as long as we can.

Sep 20, 2012 - Caldwell, ID
We left Clarkston, WA about 7:30 Sunday, September 16, 2012 and headed for Caldwell, ID. While in Clarkston, we encountered several days of smoke from forest fires in the area and knew that we would be heading into the area of the fires. As we headed south, the smoke got denser and denser and we really could smell it. We were glad to be just passing through. Lots of burned acres along the way that were visible. We did get to see their "incident camps" where the over 600 firefighters camped out. Quite a sight to see. Lots of tents, equipment...

Sep 4, 2012 - Who Da Ho?
We got an early start this morning, saying goodbye to Pendleton, and heading into the sun. Right away, we started climbing up the Blue Mountain Range until we topped the pass at just over 4,000 ft. The scenery reminded us of California in the summer time, with nothing but golden hills and not much green in sight. We were pleasantly surprised that once we reached the top of the plateau, we were back in pine trees and cooler air. We had expected nothing but high desert for today's journey. It was actually quite pretty. -- We stopped in La...

Jun 22, 2012 - Hood River, Or. to Caldwell, Id.
Today we traveled on hwy 84 and followed the Columbia river for half the way to Caldwell, Idaho which is about 30 miles west of Boise. Most of the drive was done at 65 miles per hour and then we hit some mountains which slowed us down a litle. We arrived at the campground in Caldwell, Id. and it was the best campground we have stayed at since we left home on May 10th. The campground was real clean with gravel parking spots and concrete slabs where you picknick table was located. Every thing is going great. Well, most things are going...

Jun 16, 2012 - Caldwell, Idaho.
We drove a few miles west on I-84 and set up camp in Caldwell, ID. Caldwell is a little west of Boise, about 40 miles. After we set up camp, we went to the town of Emmett, ID for their annual Cherry Festival. The parade will be a 6:00 tonight so we are not sticking and around for that. In addition to the food and other vendors, they had a stage with live music. Alas, no place to dance. There was also a carnival. We did find that the library had a book sale, so we picked up a Wal-Mart sack of books for $1.00. Not a bad deal! More to read...

On the road again to Caldwell, ID. On our travels last year we discovered this great park in Caldwell, Ambassador Resort. We would highly recommend this park to anyone. Lots of room, beautiful sites and well maintained overall. Good laundry facility and very friendly people. Ken and Connie stayed here 2 nights and Dale and I stayed 4 nights. This was where we knew we would lose our traveling partners as they wanted to be home by Monday, April 9 so they left on Easter Sunday. The night before though, Connie fixed us all a wonderful Easter...

Sep 24, 2011 - Bend, OR to Caldwell, ID
Today was another day of beautiful, ever-changing scenery. Well, I thought it was beautiful, and Dan thought I had lost my marbles, again. He drove the first part of the day, and then we switched and I drove until we got to our campground in Caldwell. At one point while I was driving he said, "Look at that mountain, it looks like one of the Pyramids." I said, "Well, that would be a neat picture." He said, "But it's just a big pile of dirt." He has now been relegated, again, to driver and I will continue to be the photographer while we're...

Sep 13, 2011 - Meeting friends in Caldwell
We had a long but uneventful drive from Sisters, Oregon to Caldwell in Idaho today. The eastern part of Oregon along Highway 20 is not the most scenic place we have been, so it wasn’t difficult to just keep on truckin’ and have done with it. So, we are now in the Mountain Time Zone and out of Oregon for the balance of the year. At this point of long range planning, we expect to return sometime in the spring. We had a very good summer there! After 311 miles of winding roadway, we arrived at the Ambassador RV Resort in Caldwell late in the...

This morning we left Bend, Oregon. After a ~300 mile drive we arrived in Caldwell, Idaho. We're staying in an RV park at the Caldwell Elks Lodge. We had a nice dinner at the lodge and will be heading towards Ogden, Utah tomorrow. Then we'll have to decide whether to travel across southern Wyoming on I-80, down into northwestern Colorado on US 40, or down through central Colorado on I-70.
