Jun 4, 2011 - Farragut State Park
We headed out on the bikes along the south road and crossed over to the North road. Very nice day not a cloud in the sky. We stopped to watch the model airplanes fly at the airpark and then road around the mostly vacant north area (mostly group camps which were still empty). On the way back we stopped at the Brig museum where Abby made friends with the volunteers who wanted a sheltie and were happy to dog sit while we did the tour. Jun 27, 2010 - Farragut State Park
We are at a beautiful state park, not much to report for today other then we went for nice long walk, tomorrow hope to edit this journal with some picture. Day 2 in the park was same but eventful. Also went for a long walk again. We have been watching our neighbor mess with a satellite dish, very comical at times and cheap entertainment for us, I even put in my...

This park has an interesting past; in WWII it was the second largest Naval training base in the world. Idaho seems an unlikely place for a Navy base but Pacific training was moved inland after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. The only building remaining in the park is the brig, which has been turned into a museum. Both wayward sailors and German POWs were kept in...
