Jul 8, 2009 - Haleakala and Paia

Today we hiked down into Haleakala (something we didn't do last time we were here) and went to skyline summit and saw some amazing views. Pictures don't begin to convey the experience of actually being here. After our morning hikes we visited the Sun Yat Sen park in Keokea, then we had Obama Burgers at Paia Fish Market in Paia. They were Ono burgers with a 'liberal' dose of wasabi sauce. Very spicy! After lunch we had coffee and ice cream at Anderson coffee in Paia and visited the local Dharma temple. Feb 12, 2009 - Boogie Board+Pa'ia

Today was great! We started off with a coffee and cin bun at the Kehei cafe. Then off to the Charlie Young beach, right in front of our condo. Did the boogie board and got some sun. Then off to Pa'ia to check out the shops and town. One more need thing I met a fellow named Wayne and he drives the vacu pump for the sani dumps. I asked him if he went up Haleakala in the truck to pick up the out houses on the top. He said that he did but they only take a half a load and it takes a looong time to get down. That would be a bad crash eh......

Mar 23, 2001 - Hawaii: Actually, 1999

I visited my brother, along with my family, in Hawaii when I was eleven. He was involved with YWAM there at the time. Words to sum up this trip: double sun burn, short hair, geckos, being in YWAM, shark/whale attacks in the news, snorkeling, hotel pool, learning that pineapples grow in the ground.
