Feb 22, 2011 - Hawaii - Day 15 & 16 finally saw lava
It's our last night here on the Big Island of Hawaii, tomorrow we take a flight to Maui for a weeks adventure. It has been a blast here, we would highly recommend it to our fellow travelers. Day 15 (Feb 21st) We spent the day driving down the scenic roads of Pahoa. Went to Issac beach and watched some local surfers catching some big waves, the best one we saw was a kid around 12 years old. He went out with the big boys and out did them on most of the waves. Feb 20, 2011 - Hawaii - Day 13 and 14 - Hilo and area
We are currently sitting looking over the ocean from the Mackenzie campground near Hilo. The view is spectacular and the camp is the best we have ever seen, blooming flowers surround us and birds sing to us every morning. No cockroaches here it is well maintained. On the 12th day we camped inthe Volcanoes Park again so we could go and view the red glow from the lava pool up at the jagger museum.
