Mar 14, 2008 - Makaha, Hawaii

Well, we are in Hawaii!!! The trip was good but would rather travel for 6 hours in GG than on a plane!!! We got a digEviewer for $15 for the flight which meant we could watch a choice of 15 films also tv shows, music videos etc. Was only $5 more than 2 headsets. We both watched Gone Baby Gone which was terrible and then Steve slept (now there's a surprise) and I watched Alvin and the Chipmonks which was amusing. On arrival, we hired a car...first place wanted $450 for a PT Cruiser for the week and we managed to get a brand new Mustang...

Still, in the scheme of things, four hours isn't all that bad, and I made it to Hawaii which was what counted. For a little while though, I was afraid I might be spending the night...

Feb 10, 2005 - Beach Hopping

We had another awesome day in Hawaii. We spent most of our day in the water. We went beach hopping and swam in eleven different areas, ending up at Makaha Beach. Makaha Beach is wide and sandy with great snorkeling. It has lots of room/peace and quiet, beautiful water, and two lifeguard shacks. Every beach park on Oahu is lovely and well maintained, but this is special because it is quiet and somewhat isolated and still safe to swim in with two lifeguards. One of the beaches we stopped at on the way here was dangerous. The lifeguard...
