Jan 2, 2012 - Here, in Hawaii

Ok, so by the fact that I haven't uploaded anything since we got to Maui tells you how much fun we've been having! We had Thomas and 4 friends meet us there and just had a blast - our stomachs hurt from all the laughter!! We did the sunrise at Haleakala, biked down the volcano, whale watched (or whale waited), golfed, did a luau, snorkeled and had many adult beverages! We stayed in Kapalua, which is a gorgeous resort area - we could see the ocean and also whales as we sat on the couch! The weather was picture perfect. We had a low key...

Dec 23, 2011 - Maui

So now we're in Kapalua, Maui. We got here yesterday (Thursday) and Thomas flew in that day as well. Today Tom Cash joined us (he was supposed to be here yesterday too, but plane issues). So we've got an aweseome condo in Kapalua where we're just chilling. So nice to be able to unpack everything! Now we're just waiting for the Ahmad's and Billman, who all arrive on Christmas. Looking forward to a great, fun, relaxing 10 days!!

Jul 12, 2009 - Staying at the Edge of the World

I won't be able to update my travel log until we return (we extended our stay until July 20th) because we are staying at the end of the world, aka Hana, where Internet access (not to mention cell phone signals and cable TV) is inconsistent and hard to come by. Check back after the 20th for a comprehensive update on the rest of our Maui adventures! Until then... aloha!

Our Maui Adventure

Jul 11, 2009 - Acid War Zone Hike and Dragon's Teeth

Today we took the Acid War Zone hike to the Mokolele Blowhole in Honokohau (West Maui), and what an interesting hike it was. Acid war zone is an apt description. At places during the hike it looked more like we were on an alien movie set than on a tropical island. The landscape was surreal. Along the hike there is a side hike that leads to some pools. To get to the pools I climbed down using what our guide peotically referred to as a questionable rope tied to a questionable rock leading to a questionable ladder. Once I got to the bottom I...

Our Maui Adventure

Feb 6, 2008 - Northwest Coast

Today I was supposed to go snorkeling in the morning, but I took a wrong tun getting there and missed my boat - so they're letting me go on Friday. I ended up touring the NW coast of the island. Incredible drive - narrow roads and more hairpin turns than you can count. Beautiful rainforest and barren lava fields - plus an amazing blowhole that was shooting at least 50 ft. Going to a Luau tonight.

Glenn Maui Trip 2008

Sep 22, 2005 - Day 1 - Travel and arrival

Travel day - and I have rarely had a less eventful day full of travel (which is GOOD thing). Got to the Cincinnati airport early; had time for Starbucks; walked up to the gate just as they started boarding; had good seats; and an easy flight to Salt Lake City. Where we walked off the plane - and there was a smoking lounge (great news for Robert). And then, between our arrival gate (D3) and our departure gate (D6), there was a brewpub. Someone is living right. Long, boring, 6 ½ hour flight to Maui (we could have watched The Longest Yard...
