Aug 2, 2011 - 3 States in one day!
We headed out early this morning to catch up on some lost time and travelled through 3 states – Georgia, Alabama and finally arrived lunchtime into Tennessee and the Tim’s Ford State Park. Darren has become quite the pro at driving this huge beast of a motor-home up and down mountainous roads and round some pretty tight spots! Tim’s Ford State Park is a combination of large lakes and some beautiful wooded forests. We were disappointed we were not able to see or park near the lake, but were able to follow a trail down to the lake and came...Jump to full entry
Jul 31, 2011 - Well I guess that's just camping...
After losing our trust in the GPS we went back to the old fashioned method of co-pilot (Lynne) and paper map (c/o Rand McNally). Occasionally, we could see some rebuilding in process, but mostly it was green and empty. Sometimes it was hard to imagine what we weren't seeing, since we were unfamiliar with this particular spot. If you are interested, they are plenty of good websites with...Jump to full entry
Mar 18, 2008 - West Point
After the Rally we went to West Point Lake in west central Georgia, right on the Alabama border. It’s a Corps park and just another nice place to stay for a while. We met some folks who came in next to us in an RV just like ours and we exchanged ideas. Other than that we just spent a relaxing week parked next to the lake. Except on the weekend we were pretty much by ourselves.Jump to full entry
