There have been several severe storms throughout the southeast US this spring. Cloudland Canyon State Park is just east of Trenton, Ga. On April 27, 2011 a tornado went through Trenton. These photos show the devastation and clean up that is still going on a month and a half after the tornado hit. Photos on the news are not as dramatic as seeing the destruction first hand.

One of our favorite places to stay and explore are state parks. Last week we stayed at two North Georgia State Parks, Cloudland Canyon and Vogel. Almost all Georgia State Parks offer 30 amp electrical and water hook-ups for the low price of $25 a night. The campsites were large, level and private. California State Parks do have beautiful beaches but you get no amenities, no privacy and you pay more. Cloudland Canyon State Park is located in the northwestern part of Georgia near the Tennessee border. It is called the mountains – at 2000...
