Jun 25, 2011 - WE'RE ON OUR WAY
Hi Everyone: For those of you who followed us on our past trips we welcome you back plus we extend a special greeting to all you "first timers". I just home we can keep the same pace as we did in the past and share a lot of great sights with all of you. After prepping the motorhome for two days; then hurricane proofing our house we finally departed on the road early this morning. By the way, we would like to thank Stefan and Elena for the farewell dinner they treated us to last evening. We actually made good time today heading up I-95...

Jun 12, 2010 - Townsend and Darien, GA
Today we arrived at the McIntosh Lake RV park in Townsend, GA, which is about 60 miles south of Savannah, GA. It is a nice, quiet little park and the lake is quite scenic. One of our first outings was to visit Darien, GA, which is a rustic, little - emphasis on little- town along the banks of the Darien River. At one time Darien was a major export port for timber, but just like what happened in many areas of the country they eventually cut down all the trees and then you know what happened. (For those of you from our home base in northern...

Apr 4, 2010 - A Beautiful Easter
Happy Easter everyone! We had a wonderful dinner at McIntosh Lake Park. We made fudge and decorated it with marshmallow eggs, plus a chicken and broccoli casserole. We took them to the Easter dinner in the clubhouse. Everyone brought a few things and it added up to a huge feast. We had ham, roast, turkey, chicken and all the fixings. :-) After the dinner, we had a grown up egg hunt. The kids in the park had several during the day. They passed Jerry's hat around for a collection of money for the prizes and collected $15.00. That went for the...

'Georgia....Georgia' Got that song on my mind as I sit and look out over our camp site on Lake Harmony in Townsend, Ga. Very peaceful. The pictures are from our drive up here and of our camp site. It was sunny and 80 degrees today. We will hang out here for the weekend and start making our way north on Monday. Have a great weekend, everyone! Fondly, Nancy and Steve (and Ginger, too!)

Mar 23, 2010 - Relaxing McIntosh Lake
We are in Townsend, Ga. We will be staying here for about one month. Our house is up for sale or rent, whichever comes first. We are enjoying some time fishing and relaxing, while the house is being shown. We found out about McIntosh Lake RV Park a few years ago from our good friends, Tony & Jackie Abasini. They even told which site they stayed in, site 14. :-) We requested the same site and enjoy it much. Thanks much Jackie and Tony! It is a beautiful park with tons of birds, ducks, geese and a relaxing, back to nature atmosphere. We love...

Jan 11, 2010 - OTRA - GA - Townsend
1/11/10 On the road by 11:30 for another nice, easy drive to the Florida Panhandle. But wait, first we went south as planned, but then the truck started heading northeast. Yep, you guessed it…another change in travel plans. Bob has been talking about the Georgia coastal area so we decided to take a side trip for a week (or two!) to the Brunswick, GA area. What a pleasant drive it was….wide, smooth highways, hardly any traffic (until we got to I-95, of course), beautiful scenery (mostly pines) and little towns with roads like “Eggs and...

Mar 17, 2009 - Welcome to McIntosh RV campground
Our 1st RV campsite on our 1st RV trip. We stayed here from 16 Mar - 26 Mar 2009. Nice park, too many bugs. Could not sit outside as very small black bugs would bite. We rode the HD from Jacksonville to Savannah and covered the coast as much as we could. We were surprised that there was not much to see here...lots of trailer homes and poverty. If we come back to this area, we will stay closer to a city. The towns are mostly real small and there is not much to do or see....

Mar 10, 2007 - McIntosh Lake Family
We drove from Jacksonville today to the McIntosh Lake RV Park in Darien, Georgia. We took Jared, Brandon and Cameron with us. We are all going to do some fishing and see who can catch the big one. :-) Bobby and Liz also drove their RV there to meet us with their grandkids. Betty and Gene came by car. We all brought goodies to eat and had a huge picnic together. We had a fishing contest and guess who won? ME!! :-) Another great camping weekend in our RV. We can't wait for Jerry to retire so we can do this all the time. I will let the...
