Nov 20, 2007 - Day 5 Mistletoe SP to Tallulah SP, Georgia
After a great sunrise at Mistletoe SP we hooked up & moved on up through Georgia. We liked the sound of Tallulah Gorge State Park & were not disappointed when we got there. We had time to go & walk along the North rim of the gorge. One of the viewpoints was where the 'Great Wallenda'started a famous tightrope walk across the gorge. What fabulous views! It was also possible to get to the bottom of the gorge via a series of staircases & a suspension bridge. Going down was just a bit easier than counting the 1,000 odd steps back up again, but...

Cleveland, Georgia is where Gold was first found in the United States. There are three gold mines in the immediate area where they are still finding gold. Some of the gems we found are Amethyst, Emeralds, Clear Quartz, Rose Quartz, Smoke Quartz and Green Quartz. We went to a gem shop and the fellow who...

We spent the week of June 25 at the Thousand Trails Campground in Fair Play, SC. On Sunday July 16, we drove up to our storage unit in Anderson, SC. We collected items that needed to be taken up to Matt and Stephanie in West Columbia, SC. This helped reduce the number of items and storage and set us up to be able to put the rest of the items in...

Apr 26, 2005 - TTN-Carolina Landing
Our initial plans were to stop at Fort Gordon, GA fam-camp (that's military talk for Family Camp which they call the camgrounds/recreation areas for military bases!) but decided to go on to Carolina Landing, SC, which is part of our camping membership and had already been paid for! Carolina Landing is located right outside of Fair Play, SC, right above the Georgia border! Fair Play is so small, they have no restaurants - gosh is that ever small!!! We'd stayed at the Fort Gordon campground in the past and didn't feel we'd miss anything by...
