Oh what fun we had. This was the first time we took out our new to us 299TB Coachmen travel trailer. I didn't have the setup done correctly so it was some iffy moments going down and plenty of head winds to boot. Skidaway Island has a beautiful entrance area and plenty of room to get in and around the campsites. For it to be a holiday weekend, the campsites were quiet and peaceful. Not a bunch of people raising cane or a bunch of firecrackers going off. The grandkids enjoyed riding their bikes and in general, having good old fashioned fun....

Wanting to have some time to explore historic Savannah tomorrow, we have registered for the next couple of days at Skidaway Island State Park. As it turns out they also have laundry capabilities so that was the first order of business before we started exploring anywhere! Jan 31, 2008 - Our First Problem!
Today was a travel day! We drove 6 hours to Savannah. All was smooth until we got within spitting distance of the park! Following the GPS instructions we turned down the wrong road! We started to suspect something immediately when we saw we were driving through a nice office and shopping complex - after all we were headed to a State Park! We ended up getting stuck at the entrance of a gated community. The guard told us that there was no place to turn the rig around inside the gates. We again slept-in this morning until almost 9:00 AM..... ......but in fairness to us, we are both battling sinus & allergies which are waking us up repeatedly during the night coughing & congested.......but we are getting better.
