Jan 4, 2014 - A Hike and Dinner

We didn't have to get up early today as we were settled into our campsite. Tom made a "lumberjack" breakfast and later we hiked around on a nearby nature trail. We had reservations for dinner at Molly MacPherson's (where we had been before in other years) and enjoyed a wonderful meal. On Sunday (Jan.5), we just lazed around in the morning enjoying the relatively warm (50's) weather. Tom got a fishing license on line and went out with parts of the chicken wings (dinner) to try crabbing off the dock. Anne hiked all around the camp and found...

Jan 3, 2014 - CAMPING!!!

We arrived around 2PM and found most of the "Premium" sites along the salt marsh open for our selection. Anne picked the "best" one and we settled in. After lunch we just chilled out (it was in the 50's) and rested after three days of travel. We'll be here until Monday morning when we head to Florida. At just about a half hour before sunset, Tom went out with his camera and captured some long shadow images, cute squirrels, and a fantastic sunset over the salt marsh. As we were sitting down to dinner, a herd of deer came browsing by our RV....

Dec 21, 2013 - Savannah South KOA

We decided to make it another small day, with a four hour drive south to Savannah. Unfortunately the traffic on I-95 south was horrendous. Holiday traffic was everywhere! It took us over six hours to get to the Savannah South KOA. We like to stop here on our way south to wash all the salt and dirt off our truck and trailer. We got our rig washed and into our site by about 5p.m. I am relaxing and watching the Leafs play the Red Wings. Tomorrow we hope to complete our drive south and arrive at The Great Outdoors at Titusville.

Apr 11, 2013 - Old Savannah

We headed up the coast from Brunswick to the Savannah area yesterday to meet up with the Escapee HOPpers. There are 20 other folks that either live full-time in their RV or wish they did attending the 2 day Savannah HOP. We met last night for a social hour and a movie - "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" filmed in Savannah in 1997 and was based on events that took place there in the 80's as an introduction to Savannah. Not exactly the movie I would have chosen for an introduction to the city, but we're touring the Mercer House, the...

Feb 5, 2013 - Savannah South - KOA

The South Savannah KOA, in Richmond Hill, Georgia is an excellent place to stop on the way south. They have a wash station with sprayers and brushes on both sides of the trailer. It cost 5.00 for the trailer and 2.00 for the truck, and you can take as much time as you need to complete the job. It is a perfect place to clean all the salt and dirt off the rig from the trip south. Glenna and I spent about an hour, at 75F and sunny to get it washed. It was a perfect day for the job. This is a very nice campground, with lots of friendly staff....

Aug 4, 2012 - We Are Finally On The Road!!

At 10:02 a.m. we closed the garage door in Palm Bay and finally started our journey. (We really did not leave Palm Bay limits until 10:30, as we had to connect the car, make last minute checks, etc.) Its been a long time coming, and now that it is actually here, it almost feels surreal!! The last 4 days of packing and preparation were exhausting, but hopefully well worth it! Linda is certainly happy we are on our way, as Penny has been a non-stop verbal checklist, with worries, concerns, double checks, etc. Yes Penny ... we have it all!!...

Oct 22, 2011 - Day 54

We sadly left our relatives in SC to head, not to Alabama, but to Savannah, GA. Eddi's friend, Pam, has a daughter that lives there that she wanted to visit. I also thought of getting some good seafood. Unfortunately, we were unable to contact Beth on our way in and did not get a return call after leaving a message. Went to dinner at Love's Seafood Restaurant on US 17 on the southside of Savannah. We are staying at the Savannah KOA on US 17 in Richmond Hill, GA, just south of Savannah.

Summer 2011

Nov 29, 2010 - New Badge ^_^

I WILL get the Thanksgiving pictures downloaded on here soon!!! Also the pics of the swans on the lake here at the Savannah South KOA, etc. For now just wanted to let y'all know that I've received my (in my mind) badge for one month without wine or other libations!! And it's going great! I would often wish that I would just enjoy a cup of tea or decafe in the evening instead of "needing" a glass of wine. Now I know it's great!! Last vestige of the middle school years... sigh. Love to all. We should be in Rock Crusher on Wednesday! God...

Mar 8, 2010 - What's the best part about vacation ending?

From a hotel in Richmond Hill, GA … Wouldn’t you know it … we were leaving Florida today, and we woke up this morning to the warmest day we’ve had in a couple weeks. Oh well, it was a nice travel day anyway. : ) We had our “departure day gravy biscuits” and then got busy getting the RV ready for travel. It took a bit longer today than usual to get on the road since we had to organize the bags that were going back home with us versus what we were leaving on the RV. Finally, we were on our way to Jacksonville around 10:30am. We arrived at...

On the Road Again

Oct 24, 2009 - Richmond Hill, GA

We hitched the trailer to the pickup truck and left Walt Disney World around 10:30 AM. It's a beautiful day, sunny and warm. Jeff drove the trailer to the campground entrance and Sandy followed in the golf cart, returning the golf cart at the Ft. Wilderness Campground main entrance. We always hate to leave, but are pleased we had five nights at WDW! We are now on our way to Savannah South KOA Campground in Richmond Hill, GA. We stayed there on our way to Florida earlier on this trip and thought it would be fun to spend a few days there...

Oct 11, 2009 - Richmond Hill, GA

We continued driving south on I-95. Today we had mostly overcast skies as we drove, but the skies cleared a little as we stopped for the night. It was warm today, with a high temperature around 85 degrees. Tonight we stopped at a very nice KOA Campground in Richmond Hill, GA (just south of Savannah, GA). This KOA has nice WiFi and cable TV, with a good variety of restaurants and other facilities nearby. The campground has a small lake, complete with waterfowl. On the recommendation of the campground, we ate at a great seafood restaurant...

Mar 12, 2008 - Richmond Hill Georgia - Savannah

We will be here for at least 5 days. Unfortunately our jacks are broke and we will stick around here longer if we can get them fixed. So we have found a place to fix the jacks and the parts should be 'in the mail'....hopefully repairs can be done on Wednesday. Our first day here as is usually the case when we move - is a 'hang out' day. Jean is doing laundry. I am recuperating from the exhausting 100-150 mile drive. Thursday we drove into Savannah and took a tram tour of the city. Savannah is laid out in a grid pattern with small parklike...
