This morning I drove to Providence Canyon State Park (www.gastateparks.org), which is off GA 27 west of Lumpkin, Georgia. It is called Georgia's "Little Grand Canyon" but the deepest gully is only 150 feet. These gullies were caused by erosion due to poor farming practices in the 1800s. The park does not have RV camp sites so I just explored a little while. There was a sign stating that RV camping is available at Florence Marina State Park. I took the 1.5-mile trail to the canyon floor. There wasn't much to see from there -- just a trickle...
