Mar 18, 2013 - Perry, Georgia

We spent Friday and Saturday nights in Perry, GA 132 miles north of Valdosta. Brad picked the campground in Perry because I was meeting a friend for lunch on Sunday in Locust Grove - just south of Atlanta. He also picked that campground because they had cable TV and he wanted to watch the Big East Basketball Tournament. It worked out very well. The campground was nice and set on a pretty lake/river (I'm not sure what it was and it may have been hand made but it meandered through the park. Perry is a nice town of about 16000 with an historic...

Aug 14, 2012 - Perry GA

Nov 16, 2011 - Lobster and Trisha Yearwood

Just a quick note to keep up to date. We are trying to get back to Maine, but not having a lot of luck. Ended up getting a load of Perdue chicken out of Perry, Georgia going to Norfolk, Virginia that delivers on the 17th. Not that close....hopefully can get to Maine after this. So we starting north on I-75 and I called the Perdue plant, asking if our trailer was loaded yet. She politely informed me (everyone is Georgia is polite) that our load wasn't going to be ready until 12:30 tomorrow afternoon. Uh-oh.....upon closer inspection of our...

We have finished five months of living and working in the western North Carolina mountains and are headed to Titusville for the winter. A stop in Perry to visit with Patricia's mother for a few days, and the cool weather from the mountains has followed us. I will post some of the pictures from the areas we visited over the summer, we had fairly slow Internet speeds and uploading photos was a problem.

Oct 6, 2011 - We are Whole Again!

We are One Big Happy Family AGAIN! We Got the BEAST Back today, and hopefully a few cosmetics to be fixed when we return, but should have all things fixed for our trip. A Good rain storm, and we will know, Right! We picked up the coach at around 1:00PM today, and after jockeying stuff from the truck to the trailer and surveying the repairs, paying our deductible and negotiating what had to STILL be finished, we were on the Road by 2:00! Not Bad!! We drove another 260 miles to Perry, which seems to be about 20 miles south of Macon, before we...

From the Peach Blossom Cluster at the GA State Fairgrounds We arrived here Wed. around 1:00 and set up in front of the lake. Stephanie and Russell arrived about an hour later and set up next to us. It’s a great view and we have plenty of room between our RV’s. We have enjoyed watching all the dogs and are glad we are just “watchers!” There are some beautiful dogs here and their handlers/owners put a lot of work and effort into showing them. We like the agility better than the confirmation as the dogs get to run and seem to have fun. There...

Mar 17, 2011 - FMCA Rally - Perry, GA

A fabulous, really busy week. I didn't even have time to cook. It sure was convenient to have a Cracker Barrel right across the street within walking distance. Lots of classes, vendors and coaches. The attendance has been rumored to have been between 2600 and 2900. This is down from 6,000 a couple of years ago. Nevertheless, the vendors said they did pretty good. I cannot imagine what a zoo this place would be with 6,000 rigs!! We found a 2011 Phaeton that we liked, but we really want a 2010 without the new emission equipment requirements....

Mar 15, 2011 - Campgrounds full because of Rv show.

The Good Lord takes care of us because we pulled into Twin Oaks Rv Park after driving 215 miles and we were given the last spot they had open. The man said there weren't any spots open in other campground either because they were having a BIG RV show at the convention center. The next day when we left we passed the center and I have never seen so many campers in my life. This is a very nice campground. Super nice man at the office.

Mar 13, 2011 - FMCA RALLY

March 13-18 From the Atlanta area, we headed south on I-75 to Perry, Georgia, where we attended the FMCA's 85th Family Reunion Rally at the Georgia National Fairgrounds. Along with 2,700+ other coaches, we dry camped on the fairgrounds. It's always fun to meet new folks, all with an interest in traveling and camping. We attended several seminars and the chapter fair, toured through new coaches on display, enjoyed night-time entertainment, and perused vendor booths.

Blessed To Travel

Mar 6, 2011 - We are now Back East.

We arrived in Georgia on Tuesday March 1. We had a nice stay at Susan and Larry's in Tucson while Ruth Ann worked at getting our 'new to us' little winter home settled the last week we were there after we all go back from Vegas. The five of us went to Las Vegas and stayed in a time share of Susan & Larry's and had a great time. We ate too much and won too little. That is what built this town I believe. After we did the necessary house closing for the summer we decided to make a rush high mileage push back east. We did this because I have...
