Nov 4, 2012 - Olympian at Oconee
On Wednesday, August 15 (boy am I behind on writing my journal), we arrived at one of our favorite campgrounds, North Shore, which is located on Lake Oconee. The park employees know our favorite spot overlooking the lake, and we were thrilled they saved it for us. I was looking forward to some down time since the last couple of months had been so hectic, but we were also excited about seeing friends who lived nearby. Already the medicine I was taking were starting to make me feel a little better, so on Thursday we met Gary and Blanche for...Jump to full entry

The sky was suddenly turned bright red as the shuttle rockets ignited on the launch pad and hurled the shuttle into the black sky. We were able to follow the spaceship's path for 10 minutes until the fires from the rockets extinguished and she entered space. What an unforgettable sight! We feel very fortunate to have...Jump to full entry

Apr 25, 2009 - Peanuts and FROG Jam
A fine day’s drive through central Georgia - Saturday, April 25 Our next destination is Atlanta but we decided to break up the 300 mile trip into a two day drive. We haven’t seen central Georgia yet and we didn’t want to have to hurry. This turned out to be a good decision. We started by getting out of Waycross. Waycross, Georgia is a rail hub and lots of transcontinental trains originate here. In fact Waycross is the largest rail center of its type in the nation. Leaving it we paralleled and crossed a lot of track. Despite all the rail...Jump to full entry
