May 25, 2011 - Wally World RV SPA and Resort

Another wake-up at Wally World. We met the manager last night who could not have been nicer, and hoped we had a good stay. Inside Pat found some stuff on sale and I bought some anti-freeze. Yesterday was a real tough drive....399 miles, part of it through downtown Atlanta...at 4:30 in the evening. We stopped at a highway rest stop for the evening but no overnighting allowed, so we ended up at another Walmart. Tonight we plan on hitting a campsite. Weather has been dry and hot...yesterday we saw high of 96...fridge is struggling to stay in...

Nov 19, 2008 - Calhoun, Georgia

Driving through Georgia we did NOT find warm weather. We traveled about 270 miles and stopped again in Calhoun at the KOA. We enjoy this park because the workers there are very friendly and because they have a small group of animals that like to be petted and fed. There are few llamas, some ducks and chickens and several goats including a pregnant female who has a handicapped leg. On the 21st we left there and moved on through Kentucky traveling about 250 miles.

Jul 4, 2008 - Day 1

Day number 1 We left at 2:30 in the morning. OUCH!!!! Behind schedule by about 4 hours. We ended up at Calhoun, Georgia at a KOA. We drove 673 miles and arrived at 4:20 p.m. We actually made up about 2 of the 4 hours lost. The temperature ranged from 69-95 degrees today. We got 9.1 mpg. Florida was a long state to drive through all night long. In Georgia, we traveled I-75 which is always under construction and went through Atlanta. Calhoun is in the very northern part of the state in the mountains. Everyone actually behaved pretty well for...

Jun 30, 2008 - The Vet's Office!!!!!!

We all woke up to a beautiful morning. After Gary and Norma ate breakfast and cleaned up, Gary went to the campground office to ask the lady about the ants. She said they are a fact of life here in Georgia and everyone here just has to live with them. She sprinkled some boric acid around the trees where the ants hang around. Then we all went to the vet's office. Norma couldn't get Missy to pee in a cup. The very nice lady doctor checked Missy out and said since we couldn't get a specimen, the symptoms did sound like a urinary tract...

Jun 29, 2008 - Laundry Time

We left Lake City this morning and headed North. After a couple more pee stops and a lunch stop at another rest area, we came to a KOA at Calhoun, Gerogia. A very nice campground. It even had a pet playground. After Gary set up camp, Norma took the wet sheets and a few other items to the laundromat at the campground to wash. While she was there it rained for a while. After the laundry was done and we all ate dinner, we all went for a nice walk around the campgrounds. Again, Gary and Norma played games and we napped on the dining table...
