Oct 8, 2019 - Yogi Bear Jellystone

We got a late start from the kids home, but hit the freeway heading west. We made it to Bremen GA , 180 miles, and the Yogi Bear Jellystone where we stayed for the night. As before, at this location, we had Hunt Brothers Pizza and relaxed for the night. The next day we departed about 9 a.m., our usual time and headed to our friends home near Snead, AL.

Aug 22, 2019 - Departing Red Bay for Augusta, GA

We departed Red Bay after noon time when we had finished with an appointment at Girard company. Previous to our final day at Tiffin we had made an appointment with Girard, a company who makes and installs fine awnings on RV’s. The Girard technicians had previously been to our coach and took measurements to determine which sizes (lengths) of awnings would best be suited to the three we needed to be installed. And so, with all that installment business complete it was time to leave town. We headed toward Georgia by our usual route and stayed...

Apr 28, 2019 - Yogi Bear Jellystone

It's always a bit sad to leave friends and relatives behind, after a nice stay. We had great conversation and fun at the Dobbs. But, it's time to move on down the road. This is just a short over night stop, after our 107 mile drive we got here plenty early enough. We rested up, took some walks, had Hunt Brothers pizza for dinner and a great nights sleep in the quiet neighborhood. Next day, is going to be a bit longer drive to our eldest sons home.

Oct 10, 2017 - Jellystone Campground, Benham, GA

So, we out ran another hurricane, three this year, hopefully the amount of destruction we, as a nation has incurred is ended for this year! Good grief! As I write this, the fires in California are raging and have claimed about 45 lives, destroyed more than 3500 builidngs, homes, businesses, barn, sheds, everything in them! We've driven 286 miles today from the Thousand Trails park to Bremen, Georgia and a Jellystone RV Park! The drive was a bit dicey as a line of thunder storms blasted thru one area. We could see the clouds off in the...

Apr 5, 2016 - Bremen, Georgia

Bremen is also a "Yogi Bear" campground. This is school vacation week in Georgia and the park is full of kids. We skip the pool and miniature golf and watch the UConn women win their 4th NCAA basketball championship in a row. We are now back in the Eastern time zone, which is surprisingly hard on us. When we left Arizona we passed into different time zones on each of the first 2 days, from Arizona time to Mountain in New Mexico and then to Central in West Texas, which seemed easy. I think this one was harder because we are more tired than...

Dec 16, 2015 - Bremen, Georgia

Today we took all interstate routes. We completed the short distance on I-95 to the junction with I-20, then turned and started the westward leg of our trip. The only excitement was the beltway around Atlanta, which was very busy and had a lot of truck traffic. It was a beautiful day for traveling, sunny and 70 degrees. The cats have adopted a routine of sleeping the whole trip, which is fine with everybody. I have a new routine in which I scout a truck stop along the highway just before the end of the day, so we get fuel before we camp....

Oct 2, 2013 - Yabba , Dabba, Doo, Boo Boo!

10/2/2013. Wednesday.Yabba , Dabba, Doo, Boo Boo! We had to say goodbye to Kaintucky this morning and head south. Kentucky is a beautiful state and we are glad that we spent a lot of time there. We took I75 south and then jumped over to US 27 just before we got to Knoxville, Tn. The drive the through the rolling hills of Tennessee was very relaxing and we greatly enjoyed the landscape. Averaging about 40 mph through the hills hampered our travel time but it was well worth it. It sure beats traveling along the boring interstates looking at...

Nov 2, 2010 - Election day

BREMEN, GA Our plans for today have been set quite some time ago -- find a park with cable TV and watch the election returns. We went to the grocery store, stocked up on food and plan to do nothing for the remainder of the day. It will probably be a late night, I’m writing this at 4:15pm, so we’re not sure if we’re going to leave tomorrow morning. We’ll just wait and see how we feel when we get up in the morning. We do know we’re going to move further south when we leave. It’s cold and getting colder every day.

Nov 1, 2010 - McDonald, TN to Bremen, GA

BREMEN, GA We rolled out from our cozy parking space at my brother’s home around 12pm today. The drive was uneventful and I like it that way. Although we did not make it very far today, 130 miles, we were in the warm sunshine all day. As of right now we plan to stay until Wednesday and then decide where we’ll go from here. The weather forecast does not look promising and even Florida will be cold by Saturday. We’re thinking about going to Savannah for a few days. Oh, and I did I say I was concerned about Ron’s health? Well, today I feel...
