PINE LAKES CAMPRGROUND BISHOP,GA 4/21/12 Our first morning in Georgia started about 0800. We both slept in. Had a liesurely breakfast, then I did the journal for Friday. Our friends, Fran and Jack Olsen, the people who bought my Cessna 210 eleven years ago, came by to take us to lunch at a Mexican restaurant in Watkinsville. We followed them up there in the Honda, since they had other errands to run after lunch. While having lunch, Jack told me has scheduled a flight for me, in a World War II Stearman trainer, at 5 PM tomorrow. It belongs...

Apr 20, 2012 - Back to Gawja

PINE LAKE CAMPGROUND BISHOP,GA. 4/20/12 Since we didn't have to get up early this morning, I woke up wide awake at 0500. Got up at 0530 and turned on the coffee pot. Edie got up around 0730 and we just took it easy and finally got underway about 10. Stopped at a station close to the park and topped off the coach tank with less expensive South Carolina gas. Now have enough to get home on. The trip was 110 miles down Interstate 85 to US441 at Commerce,Ga. We pulled into the Walmart parking lot at Commmerce to have lunch in the coach. Looked...

Oct 30, 2010 - Can it really be over??

It's really hard to believe that our journey is now almost at an end. We've had a great trip down from Pennsylvania, wandering through West Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee. We stayed in Crossville, TN for almost a week as Robert and Celeste caught up with us again and we went and visited his sister on her beautiful ranch. Georgeous place she has with her two horses and 12 acres of woods. We also were able to visit with friends we hadn't seen in many years, Jan & Frank Holdren that we knew in GITMO, so that was huge fun too. They told us...
