Nov 20, 2012 - Florida/cruise

Okay so I am a bit behind. Internet is hit or miss here...well at least that is my excuse! I flew from Indy to Florida on November 6th after having a busy, but great visit. I am thankful for the time I spent with Lilly, the rest of family, and friends. Richard and I are on a great road here at the resort and the people are fun. They also enjoy landscaping their lots, so Richard and I have started doing some landscaping to beautify our lot.......yes, even here there is a need to keep up with the Jones'! I just returned from a cruise with...

Oct 13, 2012 - Our first adventure

Okay this is my third time to try this blogging. The first two times, all my writing was lost because I "timed" out!!! Ugh! First, Let me explain where the C.O.W. came from. It is the name dubbed to our fifth wheel by my good friends and coworkers, Elysa and Jenny. C.O.W. meaning Condo On Wheels. We liked the so it has stuck. For the past few years, Richard and I have been contemplating traveling across country in an Rv. Richard has been following the blogs of some full time rvers. May 31, 2012 - Meeting Kathy and Mike at Williston, FL

Left NO for the long haul to Northern Florida where we rendezvoused with Cal's cousin Kathy and her Husband Mike. They are the proud owners of an almost new Winnebago Tour 42 foot MH. On the flat ground of the Florida panhandle, we actually got 10 MPG ! We were thrilled. We met Kathy and Mike at Williston RV Park. Its a ways off the freeway, but a VERY nice park, and it is expanding a lot. Quiet, with lots of trees. We enjoyed visiting with Kathy and Mike a lot, and made plans to see them in Orlando. ...

Feb 18, 2011 - Williston Crossing RV Resort

/// Friday – February 18, 2011 Low Temperature: 58 degrees High Temperature: 80 degrees A Travel Day... Our departure routine went very well this morning, especially considering that it has been three months since we've done this. I had an audience for hook-up time as our neighbors gathered to bid us farewell. I managed to back into the hitch without embarrassment and after saying 'so-long,' we were on our way. I made very good time traveling west on Rt. 80. Once we started north on I-75 we encountered some surprisingly heavy traffic. I...

Feb 9, 2010 - Scouting a Winter Retreat

We have another rainy day with temperatures in the 50s. The weather in Florida has been somewhat disappointing this winter. It has rained more than usual and the temperatures have been much cooler than normal. I’m not complaining, mind you, just stating the facts. Every day we are out of the bitter cold and snow in almost any region north of here, we are grateful. Warm weather is what we are looking for in our winter destination. We don’t necessarily want it to be hot, but at least rarely in the freezing zone. Last winter, we wandered...

Mar 26, 2008 - Three Weeks in Williston, Florida

We'll leave Williston, Florida tomorrow. Real life and living on the road definitely came together while we were here. But, first, a snapshot of Williston Crossings RV Resort. A retired commercial real estate developer is building his dream here. He began design and construction of this park several years ago after retiring from his real job. Right now Williston Crossings includes about 140 individual sites, laundry, community fire pit surrounded by rocking chairs, a clubhouse, and trolley for transport to community events at the...
