May 18, 2013 - Surgery and new rig!!

Thank you all who have sent messages over the past few months, missing my semi-regular (ha ha) blog entries. Well as many of you know I have been through the mill, and back!!! I had been getting slightly short of breath and had some water retention in my feet/ankles so I went off to my primary care physician to get it checked out. Last week Dave called Carefree of Colorado, while we were in Clermont, to inquire about replacing all the material on our four slide-outs and the main awning. He was recommended to RV Medic in Tampa. In short order, a man named Dave was over at our coach measuring the slide-outs and awning for the new material. We picked out our new awning material and color. Dave drove today, it was a short drive, of about 60 miles from Clermont to MacDill AFB near Tampa Bay. We’re going to spend a week here sightseeing. We especially want to see the “old town” St. Petersburg as we’ve recently read an article about it and the history sounds interesting. Also, on our list is the Florida Aquarium in downtown Tampa, our neighbors told us about a neat manatee sightseeing spot we’ll go to that and see if there is some left since the water has warmed up and they might be migrating. WE’RE BACK!!!!! It seems like it has been forever since we have entered a post, but the last couple of months have been pretty hectic. We left Tampa at the end of February headed to Destin, FL for a week to handle some business. We then headed back to Seneca, SC with a stopover in Montgomery, AL to have dinner with some special friends. Once in Seneca we ended up staying four weeks due to Steph’s Mom taking a turn for the worse. After several weeks of a declining condition, Steph’s Mom passed away on Saturday, April 6th. 4/1/13, Monday Headed out today for Tampa, FL; destination: MacDill AFB, Raccoon Creek FamCamp. We saw some interesting "odd" sights along the way including the large Gorilla statue and a huge Manatee statue with bunny rabbit ears for easter. (See the photos) We arrived at MacDill AFB and found a great campsite overlooking the water and marina out our front windshield. Very nice. Feb 24, 2013 - Flying solo again!

HI All!! I wanted to update everyone on my upcoming adventure....Costa Rica March 9-17th! A mini yoga retreat, with plenty of non-yoga experiences:) to be had! I hope the New Year has been wonderful for all of you-- me....very busy with Academic Adventures Tutoring and back to the classroom, teaching...needless to say, this excursion is a well-deserved one! Feb 16, 2013 - Tampa

I left early this morning (for me) - about 10:00. It was an easy stroll over to I-75 and then south to Tampa. I headed directly to the Camping World store in Tampa by early afternoon to see about getting some work done on the trailer. But they immediately sent me to another store which does the warranty work. They fixed the air conditioner which I've rarely used. (Tonight is supposed to be the coldest night in Central Florida in quite a while!) They don't work on Sundays so I'll take it back on Monday for them to finish what they can before...

We wish all our friends and family a safe, healthy and prosperous New Year!!! Well, it has been six months since we bought the Cat Nap Inn and moved in. To date, this has been one exciting adventure and learning experience – the good news is there are no dents or bruises on the coach or us, and we are still married after spending 24 hr/day together for these six months. Tampa (Dec 23-30) After a wonderful week and the pre-Christmas with the family, Gary and I (and the dogs) drove down to Lazy Days RV Park in Tampa. This is quite a complex; much larger RV sales and service area than in the Tucson location. However, the park sites seem very crowded. Perhaps, that opinion is based on comparison to the great, roomy sites we found in Silver Springs State Park. We arrived at 5:30 today at our destination. Sharon and Russ was here waiting on us and we went to eat at the Shrimp Shack. Then came home and Straightened out the camper a bit. Today we did get two more new tires on camper. Yea we have 4 new tires and a new spare. sounds good.

Jan 1, 2013 - HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hi Every one. We spent new years Eve and New years at the Country's largest Campground with resturants, stores and the largest camper sales I ever seen. It is beautiful here. The Sun shining bright and about 75 degrees. We will head for our final destination tomorrow will be Fort Meyer. God Bless and hope to talk to you all soon.
