Mar 21, 2015 - Heartland RV rally

Well we have been enjoying the food, new friends and fun at the Heartland RV rally in Sorrento, Fl. Tonight is the final dinner with the group. Sunday, we will have some visitors. Bobby, Becky, Beth and some of Karens friends will be coming to the park to enjoy a swim in the springs and a picnic. Monday we will be packing up and Tuesday we will be leaving for Savannah.

Nov 16, 2009 - trip update

Hello to everyone- We are still in Sorrento, (Deland) at this point. Fair just ended last night and we packed up and got out last night also. Unfortunately, the fair was not what we hoped for. No craft booths at all, no produce for sale, the exhibits for the produce and such were much smaller and so was the produce. No record setting stuff here. The livestock display was pretty dismal. Only allowed to get close to the chickens for the most part. Pigs, cows, and such all in pens behind a fence so you could barely see them and no chance of...

Oct 30, 2009 - Day 16 of the trip

Slept in a bit this morning as well. Then had to go up to the office and find out which space we were supposed to be in. Since we got here long after they closed last night, they had told us if they were not open just to pick a space and we would figure it out today. Still miserably hot today. I think the radio said around 87 degrees or so this morning. Though they also said that it was supposed to start cooling off this weekend. Later I heard it was going to cool off and be around 80 degrees. :>O I guess cooling off is relative here. One...

Oct 29, 2009 - Day 15 of the trip

Headed out around 9:00 am it was 70 degrees and very humid. Decided we would go get fuel and breakfast before we really head out this morning, then head for the campground we will be staying at in Florida. It is sooo hot and muggy today. I know we came down here partially so it would be warmer but I had forgotten just how uncomfortable it could be down here. 10:41 looked up at the temp and it is 81 degrees now. At 11:35 it was 84 degrees and still getting hotter. At 1:00 pm Derek saw a trooper behind us with the lights flashing. Being...
