Dec 6, 2012 - Florida's Gulf Coast

RVing in FL's Gulf Coast; 2 nights at Manatee Springs State Park (SP) with no wi-fi and now in Ochlockonee SP for one night before moving along Gulf Coast and visiting SPs w/ electricity. All smooth thus far in latest travels. Had a nice time in Mt. Dora w friends and familiar surroundings.

Feb 23, 2010 - Leaving Ochlockonee River State Park

The white squirrels came from the other side of the Ochlockonee River possibly on a fallen log. They breed with the gray squirrel and have spots of gray or black. Because of their white fur they ar easy targets for birds of prey! We had 3 hours of rain in the morning and had fun watching campers try to drive to their campsites!

Feb 20, 2010 - Ochlockonee River State Park

Yesterday Herb & I biked on the park roads and then decided to bike to the town of Sopchoppy. The US highway has a nice edge for biking and not alot of traffic so down the road we rode in the sun. Then in the evening we drove to a local restaurant with our friends, Donna & Monty from St. Paul, MN who are camping in the same campground. We had a great time visting with them. Feb 18, 2010 - Ochlockonee River State Park

Today we drove west of Ocala, Florida thru horse country. Lots of beautiful horse ranches. I wonder which one is John Travolta's??? Sorry I forgot to take a picture. We then drove through many forests of pine trees and wildlife management areas. We arrived at Ochlockonee River state park after driving 192 miles. This park is small and roads in the campground are sand. It is so small that Herb drove past the campground entrance. Luckily we were able to turn around in a parking lot. Jun 6, 2009 - Ochlockonee River State Park

We drove for a few hours to get to the pan handle of Florida to stay at a state park on the ochlockonee river. A very nice water fun place to camp if you have a boat or some other water craft.People all over the place and of course it was the weekend also. We stayed cool during the hot day in the water and walking in the woods during the evening before dark.
