May 11, 2008 - No Pets Allowed!

It is Mother’s Day and I want to take our little four legged “baby” to the beach but have discovered that this family feat is nearly impossible on the Florida coastline! Every single beach we would pull into had a “No Pets” sign. Finally, after checking at numerous beaches, I saw a Sheriff’s Deputy stopped on the side of the road so I made a U-turn and approached him asking, “Are there any pet friendly beaches anywhere along this coastline?” I explained to him that I simply wanted to take a walk on the beach with my husband and little eight...

Apr 14, 2008 - Broward vs Brevard

On the road at last! - Sunday, April 13, 2008 We got off to a slow start, with Madolyn still not feeling good. Our warm and gracious family came out to see us off, and Austin ran down the sidewalk waving goodbye, then we turned the corner and were on our way. Normally we avoid the interstates but we decided this time I-95 was the best way to get out of town. Madolyn hung with me for a while, then finally went back to sleep off her cold. She slept the rest of the way to our destination, but fortunately she had programmed 'Scottsmoor' into...

Feb 25, 2008 - Daytona and Kennedy Space Center

Arrived in campground along I-95 Nothing special just convenient to both Daytona Beach and the Kennedy Space Center. They do have their own resident alligator so I will keep an eye out for that. After getting set up we went for a drive to the Atlantic Coast. Found Merritt Island National Wildlife Preserve. There we found a place to observe Manatees which we did - only saw a few and they were lurking below the surface...so no pictures. Tuesday (2/26) we drove to Daytona. Drove along the coast on A1A and stopped at Walgreens to pick up...

Feb 21, 2008 - We're in Florida

Well, after an unwanted delay we finally made it to Florida. We're just north of Titusville in a small RV park named Crystal lake RV Park. We're about 50 miles from Disney world, 20 miles from Kennedy Space Center, 18 miles from the beach ((5 miles as the crow flies, everyplace you go is the long way. You can't go direct anywhere). The fishing is pretty good. Choyce caught a Pampano and whitting. I spent alot of time baiting hooks. We were only out for 2 hours. I'll get pictures later. Here's Choyce and Jasmine in front of the trailer.

Nov 10, 1994 - At a rest area near Scottsmoor, FL

*We've used a few shortcuts in our notes... to help you out with reading them, the CH is courthouse, the POI is Point of Interest, the S is seal and the P (rarely used) is for the taking the photo of the CH.
