Feb 25, 2013 - 2-24-2013 St George Island State Park

Windy day, sunny at times we biked 4.1 miles and Sally went another 2.1 in the evening. We walked a nature trail 2.5 miles in the afternoon. We met a couple on the trail which ended at our campground. The lady was in flip-flops and didn't want to walk back the trail or walk the road so Sally rode with the fellow back to get the cars. Terry went fishing later and caught a 16" red fish. He also saw 2 rays about 18 inches across swim with in a couple of feet of him while he was wading. Feb 25, 2013 - 2-25-2013 St George Island State Park

Windy, cool, 60s, rainy day. We went and collected oysters this morning. They were harder to find this year. We found about 18 of them in an hour of hunting. We came back to camp and cleaned them. About 1 o'clock we went to the laundromat. On the way a severe thunderstorm broke out. As we were crossing the 3 mile long bridge it rained really hard and wind buffeted the car. It was rather frightening. At the laundromat the rain was coming in through the ceiling. Afterwords water was standing everywhere. In the streets, in the yards, in...

Feb 23, 2013 - 2-20-2013 St George Island, Florida

Travel day today. We traveled about 250 miles today, none on Interstate highways. There was a green frog in our electrical hookup box when we arrived. We got the camp setup, took a short walk and sat by the fire until we got a little cool in the evening. Another good day in Florida.

Feb 23, 2013 - 2-22-2013 St George Island State Park

We rode the bikes 15.5 miles today. We took the road out of the state park and a mile and one half into town. After returning to camp we ate lunch then went fishing at the youth camp. we caught 2 flounder and 2 Spotted sea trout. We kept 1 of each then cleaned one of each and put them in the freezer. Weather was not good as we had rain or drizzle much of the day. All after the bike ride though.

Feb 23, 2013 - 2-23-2013

Rode the bikes again this morning, we went about 11 miles. Kind of windy we didn't go as fast as usual. We went fishing early in the afternoon. Didn't get a bite. Sally walked across the road to the Gulf side and found several sea shells along the beach. The weather is deteriorating and its breezy, cloudy, with intermittent rain. It's in the upper 60's and lower 70,s temperature wise though. We're still glad to be in Florida. We saw what we think was a Great Horned Owl in a tree behind the camper.Terry went fishing in the evening, catching...
