Mar 28, 2006 - Across Florida to Indiantown

March 28 - Time to move on. Today we are going to Indiantown to check up on the boat and get her ready to sail home. We gave the rush hour traffic time to go by and then started out, which proved to be a good idea as the interstate was easy to navigate. Our route (I-75 then US 80) took us through the outskirts of LaBelle, then Clewiston (America's Sweetest Town - right in the midst of the sugar cane growing area). Oct 26, 2005 - on to Indiantown marina

The expressway was still free for southbound travelers, although we heard that from Kissimmee northbound the tolls were on. The road was full of trucks - large semis, flat beds carrying generators or tree chipping equipment, whole fleets of electrical trucks, pick up trucks with generators and cans of gasoline or full of water containers. There was a good number of RV's as well.
