Sep 8, 2013 - Storing the Rig for a Week!
Shortly after we booked our cruise, Brad researched parking for our RV on the internet. He found Park Port Canaveral by Radisson to be the most economical and very close to Port Canaveral. We had two concerns: the refrigerator and my plant. We asked the rvusa.com forum about the refrigerator and were assured that it would run for a week on propane as long as everything was unplugged so that there would be no drain on the coach battery which is needed to turn the fridge on & off so it could use the propane to stay cold. Brad located the...Jump to full entry
Jan 26, 2013 - Cruise Critters
One of the expected highlights of a cruise, from what we've been told, is the daily "Towel Critter" on your bed when you return from dinner. We had great fun checking these critters out ... and anticipated a new one every evening. Our Cabin Steward, Apollo, did an excellent job designing these, as well as providing extremely friendly and high quality service. Remember my earlier note of how rich we need to consider ourselves??? ... I suspect there are a few residents of Roatan or Belize who may be lucky to have one towel to share for the...Jump to full entry

Jun 30, 2012 - Home again
Because we had early seating our time in the dining room was from 6:30 to 7:30. We decided to eat in Cabanas, the buffet restaurant instead and we could go later. We still had to be off the ship by 9:00. Everything went smoothly until Andy and Richard couldn't remember where they parked the car. Jim parked next to us, he remembered where, thought we had left and started off. So we had to meet in a McDonald's parking lot to say our final goodbyes. We had lunch with Andy and his family and dropped them at the airport. And we came home. What...Jump to full entry
Jun 23, 2012 - Let the cruise begin!
Our Pilot was loaded with suitcases and people. We met Jim and family on 417 and it was on to Port Canaveral. The Fantasy is an awesome ship. Of course we had to have photos taken with Mickey before boarding. And the parents got their children registered for the Oceaneer Club. As we boarded the ship and walked into the Atrium, a crew member announced: "Welcome to the Walter Family" and the other crew members there clapped and cheered. By the time we finished lunch, the cabins were ready. Some of us had our luggage, some didn't but the...Jump to full entry
Apr 23, 2010 - Monarch of the Seas! Off to the Bahamas!
Made it to Port Canaveral about noon. Driving around making our way to the Port we finally got to the point we thought was the entrance to the Port. Only to have two guys tell us it was the airport and the next flight out was in a half hour. Turns out they were only joking. Said they did that to put some excitement into their day! Got a great parking spot right up front. Sorted through our luggage making sure we had everything we needed. Fifteen steps and we were handing the porters our luggage! How great was that! Then maybe 20 minutes in...Jump to full entry
Dec 12, 2009 - First Day
Hey everybody it's my first real day of vacation. Yesterday was just a long day of airplanes. It was so funny this lady on one of the planes asked if i was 17 or 19 i was like no 14. It was funny, my mom almost didn't get her luggage but they found it today it was still in toronto. Today we went to Kennedy space center it was so cool. We saw tones of space shuttles. Jul 9, 2009 - Cruisin' the Bahamas....
Our Cruise to the Bahamas We decided several months ago that it was time to take a cruise. We decided to take one during the Fourth of July holiday. Our cruise started out at Port Canaveral, Florida. We would leave port in the evening and sail through the night to reach Nassau in the morning. The Monarch of the Seas was our ship. Our suite was on Deck 10. It was a nice suite with a balcony. The ship had lots of lounges, bars, dining rooms, and plenty of areas to find any kind of entertainment. We went to the karaoke club one night. One...Jump to full entry

Nov 20, 2008 - Back at Port Canaveral - Heading Home.....
Leaving the ship was very organized. You eat breakfast in the diningroom where you had dinner the night before, so in our case Animator's Palate. We said good-bye to our tablemates and then it was time to disembark the ship. Joe was once again stopped at Immigration but it was a brief inspection this time. They asked him a few questions and sent us on our way. Heading back to Toronto we hit some heavy snow a few times but made it safely back. FINAL THOUGHTS This journal was obviously written from an adult-only perspective so I can't comment...Jump to full entry
Feb 3, 2008 - Port Canaveral
This morning we arrive right on time in Port Canaveral. We were going to drag our bags off the ship again, but Royal Caribbean was very accommodating regarding the disembarkation time we desired so we set out a pair of bags and let them do the lifting. We were off the ship in the fourth group and, after repacking the car, were soon on the road to Daytona.Jump to full entry
Jan 27, 2008 - Transfer to Mariner of the Seas
When we left Caribbean Princess and got to our car we were a couple of miles from I-95. Soon we were rolling north in light traffic. Since it was early on a Sunday morning the traffic was sparse and was moving right along. We were slowed a little in one construction area, but even there traffic was almost at the speed limit. We stopped at a rest stop well up the road and then exited toward Coco as we needed to find a mailbox to mail some payments. We finally found one and then continued east assuming we would find route A1A which runs along...Jump to full entry
