May 2, 2013 - Water Outside Not Inside Today
We had stopped at the RV dealer yesterday after leaving the RV Resort that day. We were camping at the resort to check out our new travel trailer, that day when we arrived , the skies seemed to open up and we had heavy rains like in the summer time. It is not the rainy season yet , but we have a low front of rain coming in for the next few days. The low front has been raining from Washington state across the U.S.A. , the rivers and lake have been flood stages all across the states. We have summer rains that come in , rain 3 inches and then...

May 1, 2013 - Wet Inside And Wet Outside
We were ready to leave as soon as Norma's soap's were over , we left to take a short drive with our new travel trail just up the road for a one night stay.We wanted to test out the camper , to see what may fall off the camper and to get the bugs out. We got up at the RV resort early enough to go out before all the rain to do some GEOCACHING at a local park near Shell Creek. We got to walk along the trails that leads to a nice path way along Shell Creek. After the walk and running around in the woods the rains came. We got back to the RV...

Apr 28, 2013 - Little Pine Island Trail
We went out to Little Pine Island which is a small island between Pine Island and Matlacha, just off the main land of Cape Coral. There is a state park , Charlotte Harbor Preserve. No camping , no anything, just a wonderful place to walk on the trails in the preserve. A wonderful place to see all kinds on birds and to see the wild life. We went out to today to do some bird watching and of course GEOCACHING. A friend of our has placed some caches in the preserve and we wanted to see if we could locate them while walking the trails. Her...

Jun 20, 2012 - June 20th continued.....
So, I thought I was done journaling for today, but I remembered a few things I wanted to mention before they flew out of my mind again. Also, I wanted to write about our afternoon. First of all, I forgot to blog about the "sighting" we had in Manchester last night after dinner at Friendly's. We were on our way back to the hotel, and we saw an individual walking down the center of the 4-lane road. He was..... interesting, to say the least. He was walking down the road with an American flag and a bunch of what looked like marijuana...

Nov 20, 2010 - Island In The Sun
Today is Saturday and we did not want to drive for two or three hours to be able to enjoy some GEOCACHING and the nice waters around florida gulf coast. So we went out to Pine Island, this small island has more preserves then most areas of the state of florida. You can walk trails through flatlands on the west side of pine island and then walk down mangroves forest on the other side. St Jude Nature Trail is the jewel of the St. James creek Preserve. It is one-mile round trip. The trail was built on a old railroad bed constructed several...

Jan 2, 2010 - Fort Myers to Sarasota and beyond
We left our campground at Pine Island and headed to Sarasota. Sarasota was the winter home and training grounds for the Ringling Brothers Circus for many, many years. John Ringling, the last of the original brothers and the main organizer of the circus, had made a huge fortune by investing his circus money into real estate, railways, and other sources. He and his wife built a huge, Venetian mansion on the waterfront, and when they had no children and the family around him was shrinking, Ringling left his money to form a huge art museum. Now...
