Feb 23, 2013 - Ravine Gardens State Park
We went into town of Palatka and found a very nice state park called Ravine Gardens State Park. Thousands of years ago a ravine was created by water flowing from the sandy ridges on the shore of the St. Johns river. Many areas of the ravine have small springs which feed into the ravine. In 1933, this ravine was transformed into a garden by the federal works progress administration. A 1.8 mile paved road winds around the ravine, offering motorists , bicyclists and walkers a view of these beautiful gardens. Magnolia trees and azaleas line the...

Mar 8, 2009 - A day at the Ravine Gardens
Friday was such a perfect day that we decided to play hooky and do like we used to do all the time. That is to get in the truck and hunt for neat places. We heard that the Azalea Festival was on next week in Palatka so we figured that it would be a good day to return to the Ravine Gardens that we visited last year before the crowds got there. That was a perfect decision……. The Azalea’s were in full bloom and there were tons of them. We started out on the hiking tour and walked through the beautiful gardens for quite some time before we...

Dec 28, 2007 - Palatka to Palm Coast for testing - My Rig
It is amazing what you find that you need in an RV and most of all what you don’t need. After only a week I found that a blender that I had had for some 30 years in my home was in the way and I didn’t ever use it at home so it is gone. Must have weighed five pounds so it is gone. Been living full time in trailer since December just to see how it is and what I need.
