Mar 29, 2010 - Spring 2010 - Touring/Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge

Today was forecasted to be perfect and it was. We enjoyed our ranger-led boat trip so much that we decided to try exploring the swamp on our own. We had our Folbot but Cyndi and Bill would have to rent either a canoe or kayak. Since both of us were feeling back related pains, we decided to not use the Folbot and instead, split the cost of a johnboat and motor with the Hales. Mar 28, 2010 - Spring 2010 - Touring/Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge

Woke at our now usual 8:30 AM, dressed, had breakfast. The Hales were sleeping in some. Gary spent time cleaning the sides and front window on the motor home. Marty performed an inside cleaning. Finally hooked up with the Hales and decided on the park provided boat trip into the swamp. We were able to secure reservations on the 1:00 PM trip. Mar 27, 2010 - Spring 2010 - Travel Day/Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge

Another travel day today but this time it was in a caravan with the Hales. Traveling with them is interesting as they do not like getting started early in the morning and they also do not travel long distances in a day. Today’s destination was Stephen C. Foster State Park – a Georgia State Park in the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. We got on the road at 10:30 AM and reached our destination a little after 3:00 PM.
