May 2, 2013 - Rainy day in Ocala
In order to map my journey, I am making this entry. I arrived here yesterday late afternoon after driving in the rain most of the time from Horner's RV and Auto Repair shop, 10 miles north of Carefree. I had the generator serviced, the engine battery checked, and the air pressure in all the tires brought up to form on the RV. I also had a transmission fluid solenoid changed, since that caused my engine light to come on. Today, I ate at a franchise called First Watch using a $2 discount I got by eating at one in Fort Myers on Sunday. There...

Apr 10, 2013 - Ocala FL
Today started kind of early but only because we had a plan. At Disney’s Hollywood Studio, which used to be the MGM Studios, there were 2 rides – Tower of Terror and Rock’n Roller Coaster – that we have not done so the plan was to get there shortly after the park opened and ride them, then get back and pack up the bus for today’s drive. We were on the road around 8:30 and walked into the park a couple minutes after 9:00, walked directly to the T of T, rode it, walked next door and did the coaster and were in the car headed back to the...

Mar 30, 2013 - Ocala, FL
3/30/2013 Saturday Ocala, FL Today was our moment to rest and regroup. We had a very leisurely morning, talked with our neighbors for a little while and then wandered out to get a bite to eat at a good Thai restaurant in town. After a few errands and grocery shopping we settled down later in the evening to watch TV and surf the net. We both needed the time to get reorganized after being out of our home for almost three weeks while the repairs were being done. Everything is back to normal now and we are ready to travel toward Arkansas. The...

3/29/2013 Friday Riverview, FL to Ocala, FL 103 miles Ron was able to isolate and repair the numerous problems in the electric connection between the motorhome and the tow vehicle. Apparently there had been problems in the past but they didn’t show themselves fully until we hooked up a different vehicle. The 2003 Ford Explorer we bought in January has a different configuration than the 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the problems became apparent. Today we hooked up and drove to Ocala, FL and everything was fine. The only issue along the way...

Mar 21, 2013 - A Walk In The Park
We like to walk on the trails in the woods one day and then the next day try caching in town. You get to go to places that you would not see or would find if it was not for geocaching. We get to see where people play, work and have fun. This one city park had a few caches in the park hidden and we had a nice walk in the park around the lake and walk ways.

Mar 16, 2013 - Walking The Florida State Trail
We have been camping at Ross Prairie State Forest and today we wanted to walk on the Florida State Trail that run from the everglades to the pan handle of Florida , this is just part of the 1,400 miles of the trail. The Pruitt trail is part of the florida state trail between Bellview and Dunnellon and this part you can still see the cross florda brage canal sections. The canal was started in 1930's as a project of the CCC to have a way by water from the east coast of Florida to the west coast. Cut across florida and not have to go around...

Mar 15, 2013 - Ross Prairie State Forest
Our main base is Ross Prairie State Forest campground that has a nice bathhouse and camping area. They also have horse camping area in the park , so they don't have any place for tent camping , you don't want to have some horses get loose and run over people sleeping in tents. They have about thirty sites for camping , so it is not a big place and no swimming or a pool for the kids. This camp ground has the Florida state trail that runs inside the park and you can get to the Florida state trail from the campground, that makes it a nice...

Feb 21, 2013 - Take Another Trail
We are about a two hour drive to Palataka , Florida for a bluegrass festival over the weekend. We like to trail walk during the day and then go up to the stage for the bluegrass music that night. We got to walk the cross - florida green way trail , alot of old train beds have been given over to bike-walk paths and this trail is the old canal that was started in 1930 and was to cross the state of Florida, it was to carry stuff by boat from the east coast to the west, the canal was out dated and was given up. The canal was covered up with...

We have about a 5 hour drive to west of Ocala,Florida for a few days of walking the state trails that runs from south of Naples , Florida to Pensacola in the pan handle. We have been walking parts of the trail and maybe after fifty more years of walking we may just be able to claim that we had walked the whole total miles of the trail. (1,200 miles) While up here we wanted to walk some of the cross-florida green trail that is from Palatka on the east coast of florida to the west coast of florida. Palatka is where we shall end up on the...

Jan 7, 2013 - Trek West - Ocala, FL.
07Jan13 - Leaving Lake Worth this AM headed to Ocala Sun Resort, Ocala, FL. Not a bad run for the first day but since we have both been a little under the weather we have decided to take the first day slow and easy. KC is "ready to roll"! Along the way we spotted a "celery truck"! Silly I know, but niether of us had ever seen a truck hauling a load of CELERY!! It was a very easy travel day and once we arrived Gene cleaned the "bugs" off front of RV while I sat in the sunshine in a comfy chair! Tomorrow it is on to Pensacola!

Nov 23, 2012 - Trading the old for the newer
We are patiently waiting for the work foreman to arrive so as to discuss a list of remaining issues concerning the "newer" Coach. Initially we discussed obvious concerns and, for the most part, these were taken care of in due course! However... after driving to Dunnellon (20+ miles from hers), other ugly problems became more evident; namely a howling noise that emitted from the drive train. Stopping at a Winn-Dixie, we shopped for booze and groceries and upon our return within the hour we were shocked to hear a thumping noise in the...
