Jan 24, 2013 - 1-21-2013 Collier-Seminole State Park

We left Midway campground today and arrived at our new destination, Collier-Seminole State Park a little early.On the way we traveled the Tamiami trail, along side the road is a canal that is full of alligators. We set up camp then went into Naples to the Wal-Mart for groceries, and then to McDonald's for our last blog update.

Jan 21, 2013 - January 19th

Travel day today.We drove 159 miles today. We got gas for the rv on the way and we got 8 mpg on that tank. We got to the Midway campground about 2:30. Terry fished the pond in the middle of the campground and caught 2 small bass and 6 very large bluegill. We sat around in the evening and had a fire. We have removed the valve extenders on the tires that were giving us trouble and they have been holding air since. It is hard to check the outer tire for air pressure but impossible to check the inner tire for air pressure. We apply the gauge...

Jan 21, 2013 - January 20th, Midway Campground

Today we took a really interesting drive around a road called Loop Drive, it was about 40 miles long. We saw many, many alligators, birds and other wild critters. We've included many pictures. Terry went fishing after the afternoon rain with little luck. He did catch a 15" gar though.

Feb 5, 2011 - 1-29-2011

Another big day for us. We saw much wildlife. We went into the everglades again at the Chekika entrance where we walked a half mile nature trail. We talked to a volunteer who sail they had killed several python in the area this year. There was a pond there and we saw several alligators there. We have seen a large number of them in the last several days. We got a campsite called Midway in the Big Cypress refuge and cam back to walk the trail at Shark Valley in the Everglades. Feb 5, 2011 - 1-30-2011

Spent the day in Big Cypress National Park. Once again we saw many alligators. We also saw a Florida Panther at about 75 yards. No picture of it. We saw 7-8 manatees, several deer and drove a dirt road for about 45 miles. We plan to leave the area in the morning.
