Apr 5, 2010 - Lafayette Blue Springs State Park

Lafayette Blue Springs State Park is located in north central Florida on the Suwannee River. www.floridastateparks.org It is a beautiful remote area surrounded by dairy farms, springs, and wilderness trails. As a volunteer, I assist with cleaning their 5 rental cabins. Evening campfires, walks on the trails, and paddling on the river all attract a memorable ambiance.

Jun 24, 2006 - Ichetucknee Springs canoe trip and tube float

FORT WHITE, FL: The Ichnetucknee Springs State Park had a special "Dawn Patrol" donw the springs a 5AM. There were 10 boats, and of course there had to be one person who thought they knew more about the area than the ranger that worked there. We put in as soon as it was light enough to see and were on the springs for a good 20-30 minutes before it was really daylight. Wow was it great, as it always is when you are in the woods at daylight. We we were able to see beavers, racoons, egrets, herons and turkesys flying down from their roost...
