A few years ago we went to a state park near Lithia , Florida for the weekend for a few days of camping , when we arrived the camp site was filled up and they sent us down to a county park called Lithia Springs . From that day on we never went back to the state park, we love this small county park because of the ice cold water springs and a wonderful campground. Most of the time we visit the campground during the fall and winter season when the park is not so full of people for swimming like during the summer time. During this time of year...

Jan 20, 2012 - Camping At Lithia Springs County Park

We took off to a very nice small county park near Lithia , Florida , we were going to stay at ALAFIA State Park last year but they were filled up and we were sent to this small county park down the street. It turned out that they have a very nice campground and during the hot summer month in Florida you can go to the ice cold water of the springs for a cool down during the day. We stayed here for a few days of walking the trails and Geocaching over around Mulberry,Florida. We get to go to out of the way places that we may never get to see...

Mar 11, 2011 - Camping At Lithia Springs Park

We left Palmdale after the bluegrass festival and was going to camp at a state park near Mulbarry, Florida for a few days. But when we got to the state park , we found that they were all filled up and they said that there was a nice place just down the road. SURE A NICE PLACE in deed !!!! They called down at the county park and they said that they had plenty of camp sites. So we turned around and headed on down the road to what ever maybe there. Dec 9, 2009 - Alafia River State Park

Time for us to head on up the road to a bluegrass festival at Waldo,Florida, but before we arrive at the bluegrass, we are going to stop at a nice small state park. this state parks was once the site of a phosphate mine.the reclaimed land has unique topography that offers equestrians, hikers,bird-watchers and off-road bicycling to explore 20 miles of trails that travel through mixed hardwood forest , pine flat woods and rolling hills.The weather was in the low 70's, the sun was out and it was a great day for the woods.

Gary's Camping Trips

Aug 25, 2009 - 24 hour count down!

24 hours to go - all packed and ready. Bikes are loaded up and ready to roll out of the garage tomorrow morning. The truck is loaded with our camping gear and with Gale driving, should meet us September 16 in Bainbridge. All three of us feel very blessed that we are able to make this trip - we appreciate our family, our friends, our health and the ability to enjoy life and see the country.
