Dec 10, 2012 - Hollywood Studios
Today we visited Hollywood Studios. Was planning on spending the last half of the day at the Magic Kingdom, but it started raining and we decided not to go back out into the rain. So we had a great day at Hollywood Studios, visiting such things as the "American Idol" adventure. Disney interviews and has a live production of three contestants three showing every day. The audience votes and choose a winner at each of the showings. At the end of the day they have a final finale where the three winners of the day compete. The audience then will...

Dec 7, 2012 - Animal Kingdom
Today we will do two parks beginning at the Animal Kingdom. We took the ride on the Kilimanjaro Safari. The Kilimanjaro Safaris Expedition tour begins in the Harambe Wildlife Reserve, across the river from Discovery Island. You climb aboard a rugged open-sided safari vehicle for an exciting expedition through the wildlife preserve. Hang on it could get a little bumpy.

Jun 21, 2012 - Manatees, Mickey, and Meteorolist hype, oh my!
Wow, what a full day we had! We woke up at 5:30 for our 6:15 AM manatee tour. Summer is not the optimal time to seek out manatees because they venture up and out further towards Texas and the Carolinas, but, not really having a choice in time we could visit, we took a chance and booked a tour. It was great size-wise; we had one other couple join us on the tour, so that made a total of 5 people on the boat plus the captain, Glenn. We didn't see the 150-200 manatees Crysal River sees during the winter months (they head up the river and into...

May 2, 2012 - It's your thing
Do what you want to do and we all did. Don went to work, Shirley and Jeanne geocached and I rode the boats. I spent a couple of hours riding the different boats at Disney and stopped off for a swim at one of the resorts. After dinner we all went to watch the boat light parade and fireworks. A good day for all on our last day. Today is getaway day as we begin to head north. Enjoy the pics.

May 1, 2012 - Comin' on home Shirley, Shirley
Shirley is back home with me YEA!!! She flew into the Orlando airport yesterday afternoon. She had a wonderful time with her family but is happy to be back where it's warm. While we were waiting for her Don, Jeanne and I went to the Disney Nature Preserve. This is a wilderness plot of acreage that has been set aside in its natural state as a kind of "payment" for developing wetlands for Walt Disney World. We took a two plus mile walk at mid day so we really didn't see any wild life but it was very pretty. We just hung around last night...

Apr 30, 2012 - And I don't mean Jimmy
Set a new record with not one but two buffet's yesterday. After Church we headed to a breakfast buffet which all enjoyed. We hopped a couple of boats for an afternoon pool at the Polynesian Resort (a place my mother and father used to frequent). Boat travel is one of my faves and at Disney World they really do it up. For dinner....another buffet at the campground. Let no one say when we get together with the Orilios we ever go hungry. Shirley's mothers birthday party was a huge success. Over 60 people attended for her 83rd birthday! Shirley...

Apr 29, 2012 - Caught in a Typhoon
Don and I had a great day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon oa water park. We stayed six hours. We both love the water and the park is very beachy. Then Jeanne joined us as we boated to Downtown Disney for dinner at the Earl of Sandwich, yum. Then more boating to see the fantastic Piano Bob show at one of the resorts. Hard to explain this family funny show and the energy Bob puts into it. Today is Shirley's mother's big birthday party. I wish I could be there to see everyone. Enjoy the pics.

Shirley ran into snow on her trip up north. Her Mom's party is tomorrow. Doing the blog on my phone and have to run. Enjoy the pics.

Apr 27, 2012 - Moving day
We moved Shirley to the airport in Orlando as she winged her way to Elmira NY via Detroit. She arrived safely and reports snow this morning as she prepares for her mother's birthday. Don, Jeanne and I rode our bikes around the Fort, went to lunch and then drove to Citrus Ridge (their RV resort) to move their stuff in storage from the shed on their old lot to the shed on the new lot. Doesn't seem like much but it was sunny and hot and none of us thought about bringing something to drink. However, 6 hands made light work of it and we went to...

Apr 26, 2012 - Wildnerness Camping
We made it to Ft. Wilderness at Disney World and are staying once again with our college friends Don and Jeanne. They have a brand new 5th wheel camper which is plenty big for all of us. Don and Jeanne worked their last day for the season at EPCOT and Shirley and I rode our bikes around this great campground. I went to the pool and Shirley worked on the computer and got everything ready for her trip home to the Elmira NY area. We also got a free place to store our truck and camper here at the Fort. Not sure the word free is in the Disney...
