Aug 16, 2010 - Preparations are underwayl

Well, it is time to start getting ready. We took the motor home to get the oil changed and few minor repairs done. Next week we are getting it detailed. Tomorrow we head down to Camping World to restock on some things. Just 11 days until we leave. We are planning on driving pretty straight to Denver. We have a reservation at Cherry Stone State Park and will stay there over the Labor Day week-end and then head up to Estes Park and hopefully get to see some of the Aspen leaves turned. Then off to Grand Junction and Moab, down to Monument...

Apr 23, 2009 - Shake Down Trip

We just returned today from a short shake down trip with a couple who just purchased a "new" motor home-- at least new to them. Ron and Donna bought a 97 Airstream Land Yacht and needed to take it out to see it performed and we agreed to tag along in our unit to help out. We went up to Silver River State Park in Ocala. Not too far, but a really nice park. Easy sites to get in and out and if a real disaster struck, not that far from home. Apr 7, 2009 - Getting Ready

We have just spent the week-end getting the RV ready for the trip. We have added most of the stuff we wanted to add to make the trip more enjoyable-- stuff like Sirius radio and an outlet so Susan can operate the computer on the road and lots of books! All of our reservations are made. We still need to have the RV serviced before we leave. Counting the days! Only 40 days till departure.

Mar 1, 2009 - Lady Lake: A Herd of Stampeding turtles

This has been a great two weeks. The weather has been beautiful, our campsite was large and shaded, we visited three neat places, saw old friends we hadn’t seen in years and most special, Marchia and Warren came down from North Carolina to be with us. We were in different campgrounds, but we were only about 18 miles apart. We are rather curious as to how many of you have ever heard the phrase “a herd of stampeding turtles”. Dec 10, 2008 - Lady Lake, FL

Hello from Lady Lake! This is the place where our trailer will spend a month without moving! My parents, Tom and Janet, will 'babysit' the trailer while we head back to Alaska for some holiday time. We're parked in a nice little RV park with lots of activities. We are also close to The Villages community with lots of golfing and other special events that my folks can take advantage of. Nov 23, 2008 - Florida at Last!!

Florida at last !! We arrived at Recreation Plantation in Lady Lake about noon. We're happy to be settled for a while. After setting up, Margot happily jumped on her bicycle and took a tour of the park. Recreation Plantation is quite a large park with approximately 3/4 park models and the rest rvs. The residents are friendly and welcoming and there are many activities to join if one was to be here for a long period of time.
