Aug 10, 2014 - Departing Florida

After Cape/Port Canaveral we spent a week in Bradenton before going over to Seminole FL to meet up with our Buckeye neighbors Bob and Edith Robiller. It was a family reunion for the Robillers but a surprise birthday party for Bob on August 7th. It was quite a celebration, as 4 of their 6 children, lots of grandkids, one great grand daughter and Bob's brother and wife. One of their son-in-laws was in the keys the day before and came back with 51 lobsters. Halved and grilled, along with steaks it was a feast for kings. Not to mention the...

Jul 27, 2014 - Good time with friends

Since Suwannee River, we spent one night in High Springs, then onto Keystone Heights. Our good friends, Lora and Bucky arranged for us to stay in the Park of the Palms RV Park which backs up to Brooklyn Lake. Bucky' s mother lived in the assisted living portion of the retirement community and the hook ups are for people visiting residents. We have been spending a lot of time at their home on Santa Fe lake and Bella is really fascinated with the lake water splashing on the bulkhead. Yesterday we went into Orange Park and had lunch at our...

Here are photos of Rocky the Raccoon getting out of the dumpster. There are some photos of Bill & Millie and our trips to St. Augustine and aroGoldHead branchanch. The lakes at Goldhead Branch State park are fedartesianesan springs and the water is crystal clear. Florida recently broke some weather records by having 13 days of below freezing temperatures. Topaz found that she could stay warmer by sleeping on a heater vent.

Nov 30, 2009 - Florida

Wednesday, November 18 thru Monday November 30, 2009 It rained all Wednesday morning in Covington, so we got a late start and didn’t arrive at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Camp near Live Oak, FL until after sundown, breaking our cardinal rule of never setting up in the dark. Fortunately, it was a fairly level pull through site. The park has nearly 1000 RV sites plus room for about 1000 tenters. They have an indoor Music Hall seating about 800. Some type of entertainment , usually musical, goes on 6 nights a week. Many of the big names have...

Mar 7, 2008 - Northeast Florida Camping Club Rally

We joined the Northeast Florida Camping Club after I retired and the were having their first Club Rally at Gold Head State Park so we went to it. Adam and Dena and Kids got there Monday, they had a wedding to go to and had to come down late. We had a work day Saturday putting up post and rails around the camp sites to keep cars off the grass....

Nov 25, 2007 - Florida - Part 1 - Thanksgiving

Friday, Nov 16 thru Sunday, Nov 25, '07 We've stayed 10 days at Heather's, have unloaded a lot (but not enough!!), & have had a great time with the grandkids - Gage has attached himself to me and wants me to stay "forever" and Genna is definitely grandpa's girl! Heather did a wonderful job with dinner on Turkey Day. We had lots of left-overs for a repeat meal on Friday. Drew had time to get some projects finished on the RV and was also able to install two electrical outlets on the deck for Heather so she can have their outdoor Christmas...

Jun 21, 2007 - Birthday Party

Well, it rained all day today just as it did yesterday. Mostly it was a steady, light rain, but occasionally we had some heavy downpours. We stopped soon after crossing into Georgia for breakfast at a Perkins. The food was good, plentiful, and inexpensive - $2.99 for 2 eggs, bacon or sausage, and 3 pancakes. Drew had not gotten fuel at Wal-Mart last night ($2.75) thinking that it would be less expensive in Georgia - wrong, again! It was running about $2.89 there. Oh, well. We got to Starke FL (near Heather) just before 2 PM. Went to...
