Feb 19, 2013 - 2-18-2013 Hernando, Florida

Very cold last night, 28 degrees. Again we bundled up but this time we went to the dog races in St Petersburg. After the races started the weather improved so much that Joyce and Gene chose to sit back under the awning to get out of the hot sun. I bet on every race and there were 15 of them. Losing about 10 dollars. We all had fun though. We ate at the Golden Corral on the way home. The forecast low tonight is in the 50s so it is warming up.

43 degrees this morning. We chose not to ride the bikes. We went into the town of Inverness to a flea market. We looked but didn't buy. We came back to Hernando and went to another flea market. Again we looked but didn't buy. We lounged around part of the afternoon, then went to the town of Dennellon and ate at the KFC. After eating we went to Eva and Paul's for a visit in the evening. We expect low temps in the upper 20s tonight. Some have their citrus trees covered tonight as they are in bloom and a frost may kill next years crop.

Cooler, rainy Valentines day. We put a speedometer non Sally's bicycle. Gene and I went and got the ladies valentines card and roses. We intend to go to the Chicken King restaurant this evening to celebrate a birthday. Charlie is the name of the fellow with the birthday. I don't think it'll get to 70 today, very cloudy, not the mood for Valentine's day.

Feb 19, 2012 - February 19th

We rode bikes on the local bike path again today. The bike path is wonderful here. It goes for over 40 miles. There is access about 3/4 mile away. We just hope on the bikes and ride to the access point, then go either way. Most of the way it is mostly flat with restrooms spaced about every 5 miles. Today we went a little over 16 miles and we saw fruit trees in bloom, a 3 black colored snake, and many caterpillars along the bike path. After returning home we went to Walmart for supplies as we are back on the road tomorrow. We are heading to...

Feb 17, 2012 - February 17th

Woke this morning to a dreary day. It's cloudy and sprinkling every once in a while. We took beaker to the park in Inverness. She did a little walking and a lot of sniffing. We also went back to the Ford dealer trying to get the gas cap for the RV. They were able to try another guess. They ordered one and had it delivered in about an hour. This one looked like it might work. We returned home and to our pleasure the gas cap did fit. We then took a bike ride of about 8.5 miles. We returned home and went to eat around 5 o'clock. The place we...

Beaker seems to be doing better today. Sally and I took our bike ride this morning and we went about 16 miles. We went south this morning and went as far as the turned around about a mile after passing the Inverness trailhead. We Went 16 miles before getting home. I helped Gene with the riding mower he is fixing up, Sally helped Joyce. We tried to get the gas cap at the Inverness Ford dealer but after getting it home once again found that it didn't fit. Oh well I guess well take it back once again as it is a $25 dollar item. We also went to...

Feb 15, 2012 - February 15th

Wow, really big day today. We woke and Beaker didn't move. Quite unusual as Beaker normally is first awake and then wakes Sally and I. Well we called her, she sleeps at the foot of the bed and she still didn't move. We got up and started our day and she still didn't move. We called her again and had the same results. I got down and listened for breathing. She was breathing. Called her again and she started moving. Slowly she got up. Finally she made it to the door of the RV. She needed more help than usual getting down the steps. The potty...

Feb 14, 2012 - February 14th

Hmmm, another very good winter day in Florida. We had a high of 74 degrees today. Sally and I took a bike ride again this morning. We went for 15 miles. Well that left me pretty tired so I had to take what I thought was a well deserved nap in the early afternoon. We went with Gene and Joyce to visit their friends Phyllis and Charles who are located in this same area in the late afternoon. For Valentines we are going to go eat at the Applebees. Tomorrow we hope to go to the dog track in St Petersburg.

Feb 13, 2012 - February 13th

Slept in today, it was 8:10 before we got up. Our Beaker alarm failed us this morning. We ate and then went to two Bealls Outlets. Sally and I didn't buy anything but we did a lot of looking.(yes, it is fake). We then went into Inverness and played a round of disk golf. The course wasn't long but it was very demanding on accuracy. There were trees everywhere and the fairways were very narrow. Sally had 128 and I had 96 for 18 holes. We returned home around 4:30. Walk Beaker and got bawled out by a neighbor man. He doesn't want the dog poo...
