Nov 8, 2011 - A New Stable Mate at The Vision Quest

With almost a month under our belts of being back in sunny Florida we’re pretty much settled in for the winter here at our place in the sun called Cold Comfort. The first couple weeks we had some pretty nasty rain storms. All the ponds in the parks around are full up and some have run over and did some flooding in both parks. After leaving Charlottesville, Va. We headed down to Mount Airy, NC. And spent four day’s there just basically relaxing. We did drive up to Floyd, VA. About fifty miles north to take in the Friday night bluegrass music at the general store. That was a bust, the wait was to long, to hot, to crowded, to seats were haaard and the first group of singers Sucked. We cut our losses and headed back to the coach. September 16, 2011 travel day We left Toomsboro, GA around 9:00 this morning, we had planned on stopping and spending the night somewhere and coming in tomorrow, the closer we got the harder it was to stop so we drove on through, traveling 495 miles today getting home around 6:30. Weather up in the middle 90’s. On this whole trip which started June 23, 2011 we traveled a total of 10,650 miles and saw so much beautiful country and had some wonderful weather along with some hot weather, however we never got into any really bad storms which...

Jul 9, 2011 - Camping World Again

We left Valdosta,GA early and drove to Fort Myers,Florida in the rain, when shall the rain stop?? I called up camping world about bring in the camper and check for window leaks. I got a call about the trailer the next day. The trailer is about 10 years old and is leaking all over the place. They took care of the leaks for a price of about $900.00, the roof and end cap was leaking, all the window were snake caulk and all vent holes. With this all done over the last few days maybe we can start our vacation.

Jul 6, 2011 - CAMPING WORLD

I called up camping world to make a appointment to have my wheel bearings replacked and check my brakes on the trailer. We went over to camping world to drop off the trailer and then went to the Shrimp Shack for lunch. We love to eat shrimp and this is what we do every Tuesday or wed during the week. We have a special lunch once a week, some nice place to eat that we dont during the week. After dropping off the trailer it was time to go to the river for a cool dip in the water before going home to work around the house.

July 4, 2011 HAPPY 4TH OF JULY stay over in Howe, IN We got up this morning and took the truck to wash and vacuum out, then to WalMart and breakfast in Howe at a great place we had been to before, and it was still just as good, they call their homefries Amercan Fries, and they have Smoking and Non Smoking still up here in the restaurants, YUK. July 2, 2011 stay over in Howe, IN We went out and checked out some yard sales today and got some estimates on a new tire, ended up getting one for about the same price as home. We stopped at a furniture/gift shop which had some nice stuff just nothing I needed or could carry home, on the way back to the trailer we saw an amish buggy pulling a boat not something you see everyday. Today we had to do laundry and ended the day back at the trailer around 5:00 and Buddy cooked some steak on the grill around 6:00 just as a the rain started coming...

Jul 1, 2011 - traveled from Waterford, PA to Howe, IN

July 1, 2011 traveled up Hwy 19 to Hwy 20 to I-90 to Hwy 9, Waterford, PA to Howe, IN Beginning mileage 14970 ending mileage 15294, traveled 324 miles. We left out of Sherry and Chips around 8:00 a.m. today was a travel day all day and the traffic was good, going along the Ohio turnpike we heard a pop, we pulled over and yep, tire blew a hole in the side, fortunately did not tear apart and mess up the trailer, so Buddy put spare on and here we go shopping for another new tire tomorrow. Weather started out at 54 degrees and got to 92 degrees.
