Hello everyone. Things are going great, we're having great weather and a great time. Cindy spent some time in on Marco Island doing some shell hunting. We camped at Collier-Seminole State Park on the edge of the Everglades. Cindy found all these shells in about 1 1/2 hours. She found some on Sanibel Island but not like on Marco Island. Someone told her that people walk Sanibel Island in the mornings and gather the good shells to sell. There are two stores on Sanibel Island called. " She Sells Sea Shells". Tuesday, March 12, 2013 Holy Cow! Time dun flew on by me and we flew the coop too. We are now sitting pretty in a dumpy mobile home and RV park (but the price is right) in North Fort Myers. Right across the Caloosahatchee River is Fort Myers, an entirely too big and too busy city. Mar 10, 2013 - Return To Fort Myers

This week I hooked up with my friends Barry and Sue in Cortez, Florida (just south of Tampa) and we "convoyed" down to an RV Resort in Fort Myers. We'll be here for about 4 days before I start heading north for good. Two days ago we ventured over to Sanibel Island, which is just off the coast and went to an interesting restaurant there. Norma had a doctor's appointment today and I had to wait on the cable man to show up to install cable TV and internet cable for the computer. I had my rate raise up for the old cable company twice in the last two months, over $40.00. One raise was because it was a special price for the new customers, but one month later it was just a increase. I called up another cabe compant and had them come over to install, mean time I called the old cable compant to disconnect their cable. They asked me WHY???? Shirley cleaned up, packed and we had a light lunch at Jeff & Lynn’s, then we went to get Shirley a turtle sundae & of course we all had to get something – smaller. Then we went back to the RV and put all our stuff away and are now waiting for J & L to come back and have happy hour and then we will all go to dinner. We just got back from dinner. I had jambalaya and Shirley had onion soup. It was fun being with Jeff & Lynn . Hope we were not a pain.

130216-Sat-0 miles-Today we went to an art show at Koresan State Park. Then we went to lunch at Mel’s Diner. Then we went to a car show in Naples, and we saw about 100 Ferrari’s, among other expensive cars. Now we are back at Jeff & Lynn’s having a drink. We went to dinner at a great place and I had short ribs over mac and cheese.

130215-Fri-0 miles-We are still @Jeff's. It is a little cooler today, about 72. Jeff fixed me an omelet for breakfast. My trike will be ready after noon. I'm getting a new brake and new batteries. I'll be all ready for WDW. I decided to get the old one fixed & not buy a new one. I think it will be cheaper & better for me. We went to see a movie and then picked up my trike. We went to Docs for dinner.

130213-Wed-0 miles today we basically relaxed. I dangled in the pool for about 1.5 hours. My computer is not charging, so I am doing this on my tablet. No pics today. Shirley is cooking tuna-spaghetti for dinner. We just cleaned the battery terminals.

130212-Tue-71508 miles-Today we went to ev rider, where my scooter comes from. We looked at a new one, but they said my brake was bad and they could fix it, so we left it to be fixed and it will be ready by Friday. We drove a total of 19 miles and bought over $200 in gas. We last got gas before we went to Key West. If need be we can pick it up in Jeff’s, my brother’s car. I spent about 1.5 hours dangling at the pool. It was about 87, with an 84 outside temp and sunny. Almost perfect. We are having steak for dinner. Tough life.

130211-Mon-71489 miles-Today we drove to Woodsmoke RV Resort near Jeff’s. We drove 297 miles from Key West. I hate saying this, but it is hot. Our thermometer says 85. It is now 345pm. We are in a pull-thru site so it will be easy to go Look at scooters tomorrow. We are in site # 358. Past the office and take the first left and we are near the end. We went to the pool to cool off, then had dinner.

Jan 24, 2013 - A Day for the Birds

Our stay in Fort Myers was pre-planned explicitly so we could revisit Sanibel Island. Our last visit was about 15 years ago and we have wanted to return and head to Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge. Last trip, in 1997, Gary had a great time photographing birds, alligators and the one, huge crocodile that was claiming the road. And they say women can shop till they drop ..... Yesterday was a guy's shopping day! Mike and I accompanied Cindy and Dave to Ft. Myers for a full day of shopping. We started at 8 a.m. (Dave had probably been up for two hours already) and went out to breakfast at a place that Dave calls "the coffee cup," because the sign for the restaurant is a coffee cup!
