Jan 28, 2018 - Watersport

Jan 27, 2018 - Fort Myers Beach

Ekstremt fine hvide sandkorn,...

Dec 3, 2017 - Visit with Jan and Sue

After another day at our RV to do laundry and hold the kitty, we drove down the gulf coast of Florida to visit with Jan and Sue. They had been asking us to come visit since they bought their place in a retirement community near the beach. We were worried about damage from the recent hurricanes, but really saw very little that still needed repairs. They are really excited about their new lifestyle and had many things to show us. The first full day we went to a shell beach on Sanibel Island, but went too late in the day to find any really...

Jul 11, 2017 - Take It Out !!!!!!!!

Today is the day to take out my prostate , I had a bone scan , I had cat scan and some blood work before the surgery. I have looked at all the crap about prostate surgery and even got to see a few video's about how they are going to remove my prostate. They can do it about three different ways, but my doctor wants to do it his way. In this operation, the surgeon makes the cut (incision) in the skin between the anus and scrotum (the perineum). This approach is used less often because it’s more likely to lead to erection problems and because...

Mar 5, 2017 - Six Mile Cypress Slough

Today I felt like walking a boardwalk and viewing nature by myself. There were quite a few people around, but I found times to be alone and enjoy the views ahead of me. It was a peaceful couple of hours and I enjoyed the animals I saw. I especially liked how I saw a great blue heron, an alligator, six turtles, and an anhinga at the same area of a pond.

Jan 22, 2017 - Thomas Edison Estate and W.P. Franklin

. With reservations expired at Ortona South COE, Hazel and I headed downriver 20 miles to W.P. Franklin another Corps of Engineers lock and dam RV park. We've been here before several times, maybe our favorite spot, an island in the Caloosahatchee River accessable by a short causeway. . This time, we were here for four days, giving us time to do a little exploring, including spending the day touring the Thomas Edison and Henry Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers. The Estates have a museum and 21 acre botanical garden on the adjacent sites of...

May 5, 2016 - Cedar Key to Fort Myers

Yesterday morning we woke to lots of thunder & rain. Callie ended up in bed with Judi because she's (Callie) afraid of thunder & lightning. After checking & rechecking & rechecking the radar & weather forecasts for Tampa & Fort Myers (our route) & praying for wisdom, we finally decided about 9:00 that we would stay put for the day & let the storm pass. We were able to book another day in our spot in Cedar Key & to push our reservation in Fort Myers. (God is good!) So we spent a lazy morning at home listening to the rain. Once the rain...

Feb 21, 2016 - Fort Myers, FL.

There is not a lot to do in Fort Meyers, unless you swim or boat. We decided on a tour of Thomas Edison and Henry Fords summer homes. Seems quite a few others did too. The 1 1/2 hr. tour took about 4 hrs, but was worth it. Decided to head back to the MH to check on the pups. Edison came south for his wife's health and bought the property because of the Bamboo growing along the shore. Built a 1500 foot pier out into the shallow Caloosahatchee River to allow ships from New Jersey with his home building supplies to unload. He also built a...

Last year after Norma had gotten her Mohs surgery on her nose just before we left on a three month vacation. She went back to the doctor so he could check out the surgery and he was please with what he had done. Now he want to put a "DENT" on that side of the nose to match the dent on the other side.He did that and it turned out great. Norma had a pimp on that side of the nose and it turned out from the biopsy last year that it was basal cell carcenoma, so she had the surgery. She found another pimp like on the other side of the nose this...

Feb 6, 2016 - Art in Fort Myers

On this cloudy day, Chic and I went into Fort Myers to get Cindy from the bus station and then look at some art. A famous guy made lots of sculptures out of iron and there are 24 of them all around the downtown area until the end of March. Must cost a lot to transport them! One caused an uproar because it depicts a dog and a man pissing on a post! Art won out and the sculpture stays. It also happened to be the weekend of the Arts Festival, so we wandered along many tents in Centennial Park to see lots of paintings, jewelry, whimsies, and...

Jan 27, 2016 - Gulf Coast

After nearly three weeks at Walt Disney World, I was exhausted! Even though I slowed down my normal race from attraction to attraction, I still walked mile after mile each day. I needed some time to catch up on all those boring, routine aspects of life: balancing the check book, doing the laundry, catching up on the news. Even though I’m now a full-time tourists, I still need to run my life. No one else is going to do it for me! My next two stops were Tampa and Ft Myers on the Gulf Coast of Florida. I’ve been to the East Coast of Florida...

Jan 24, 2016 - Fort Myers RV Show

This weekend, I drove over to the Annual RV show, just a few miles from our Corps of Engineers campsite just outside of Fort Myers, Florida. There had to be a couple thousand cars parked everywhere, but lines were short, and after a very short wait I paid my $8 entry fee and I was in. There were several hundred RV's on display, motorhomes, 5th wheelers, travel trailers, and there had to be over 3 thousand people there. Lots of booths with RV related services, representatives from several RV parks, KOA, Passport America, people selling dash...
