Jan 21, 2014 - A Hitch In Our Plans

We trail our Acura TSX using a Blue Ox package and we are equipped with a Brake Buddy. On this Florida trip as we were heading toward the central part of the state on a county road off RT 441, I felt a strange sensation at the rear of our Chinook and as I looked out through the rear view mirror and on our rearview TV screen I was horrified to watch the car wobble and let loose. Fortunately, we were in a slow traffic area and of all things, a employee of a local RV dealer was right behind us! He bounded from his truck and grabbed the car...

Feb 28, 2013 - Eustis, FL

Thanks to our Thousand Trails Parks being so full, they opened up a few of their public Encore parks to Thousand Trail Members and we took advantage of it. So now we are in Eustis, FL at Southern Palms RV Park in a site across the street from Chuck and Dottie Burr for two weeks. This park has some very nice bocce courts and we played on Friday night with a group thanks to Chuck and Dottie. One of our neighbors was around a lot and Chuck invited them to go with us to De Leon State Park and the Old Mill Restaurant. The neatest thing about...

Feb 18, 2013 - Enjoying Sunny Florida

From Southern Palms RV Resort Temp. 68/48 We are still enjoying our time here, in fact we have decided to stay here until March 20. Since my last post, we have been to the beach a couple of times, watched sunsets in Mount Dora, and took a casino boat tour from Port Canaveral. You will notice I have a picture of a beautiful big tree. On the way to the beach we pass by this so the last time I had Bill stop so we could check it out (I love trees!) I also have pictues of 2 plaques explaining the tree and area. In the park we attend a dance with...

Jan 28, 2013 - Ocala National Forest and Ormond Beach

From Southern Palms RV Resort Temp. 78/60 We’ve had a fun few days. Friday night was a free movie at the campground. They provided popcorn, soda and a candy bar. The popcorn popper was like they have in movie theaters and you could smell it when you walked in. Saturday from 12 to 3 they had a chilli cookoff and western party in the parking lot of the rec center. There was live music, and they also had hot dogs, hamburgers and chips. Saturday night was a dance with the same live music that was at the western party. Bill and I sat at a table...

Jan 24, 2013 - Exploring New Area

From Southern Palms RV Resort Temp. 72/50 Here we are at an unplanned campground and we love it! A camp host knocked on our door this morning and we agreed to move at 10. When Bill started the MH, two men from across the street came over and asked why we were leaving. They thought we were unhappy. Bill explained that they put us in a temporary site last night and now we were going to our permanent site. They thought the MH was new and when Bill told them it was a 2006 they told Bill what a good job he was doing maintaining it! Amazing!!! We...

Jan 23, 2013 - Finally moving

From Sothern Palms RV Resort, Eustis, FL Temp. 67/41 We are finally rolling again! We had a pleasant night in the hotel and a nice continental breakfast this morning. We checked out of the hotel at 11 and went to the Antique Auto Museum. Again, we seem to find the best gems when we have a change in plans or delay. This museum was the best we have ever been in, including the Smithsonian! They even let the girls walk through it with us. Anything and everything American is in this museum. I have included several pictures but took many more....
