No photos today, but I am hoping for several tomorrow when we go exploring around Eau Gallie. As is probably obvious by now, Eau Gallie is the French translation of rocky water and this very historic area was named for the coquina rocks that line the Indian River shore in this area. Wikipedia has a thorough explanation of the history and development of the area. The unassuming marina we are staying in is in the best "hurricane hole" we have ever seen in Florida, and is surrounded by several city parks and some lovely old homes. In recent...

Dec 18, 2008 - Sounds of Silence

Current location: Eau Gallie (the Eau Gallie Yacht Basin to be exact), Florida Weather: Beautiful and warm. It has been up to 80 during the day and in the 60s at night. Sunny most of the time; sometimes sprinkles. Mornings are foggy so we can’t get going before about 9am. Favorite boat name seen recently: Mango Tango When we first arrived at Oyster Creek Marina in St. Augustine Florida on Sunday Dec 7 we told the dockmaster that we would be staying 1 or perhaps 2 days.
