Jul 9, 2011 - Cocoa Beach, FL

After the launch we headed back to Cocoa, FL. Aunt Joyce was awesome enough to give her reservation at the Best Western in Cocoa Beach, FL to us. Mark, Rosy and Joyce decided they wanted to go to Savannah, GA to visit and stay at a bed and breakfast. They have never been and decided that it was time to make that trip. We headed to Cocoa Beach and just relaxed. First thing we did was check out Ron Jon Surf Shop. They had a band playing in the middle of the store that played just beach/70's music and they called themselves "Honey Miller", a...

Aug 31, 2010 - For The Love of Gary

My journey begins on a flight to Melbourne Florida where I will take possession of my first RV. I still have no idea what possessed me at three in the morning to bid on an RV. It was Gary's dream to drive across country, me and him escaping life like we frequently did. He's been gone a month now. Some days it seems like yesterday he was here holding my hand and others it feels like forever ago. I miss him! It only seems right that I would drive up the coast of A1A to drink margaritas and leave part of Gary behind. I guess that's why I'm...

May 14, 2009 - Tour at Kennedy Space Center

Hello everyone, Today we headed off to the Kennedy Space Center. After arriving, we entered the center and decided to take the bus tour. The first stop was the Space shuttle launch pad viewing area. We could see the shuttle Endeavor on pad 39B and the empty 39A were Atlantis just took off. The Atlantis STS-125 mission is to repair the Hubble space telescope. The reason for Endeavor being on the pad is in case Atlantis has problems during it’s flight and they can launch Endeavor to rescue the Atlantis astronauts. Our next stop was the...

After getting up this morning and s quick trip to the local exchange and trip to the base library for Internet access. We talked about going much closer to watch the shuttle launch this afternoon and was told the campground would be a good place to see the launch. Even though it was some Distance away we got the lawn chairs out and cold drinks to watch. Since this was for Debi to see the shuttle take off I told her to look through the binoculars and I would take pictures. I was a grand experience and Debi was glad to see the shuttle take...

May 11, 2009 - Moving Day - Cocoa Beach

It’s moving day once more, as we move from Naval Station Mayport to Patrick Air Force Base. We were ready to leave early, having dumped the tanks the night before and packed up the bike and ladder in the back of the truck. We had a nice drive south just a few hours to arrive before everyone else to get a good spot in the park. We found one that had a partial view of the Banana River. After we set up camp the RV’s kept rolling in for the NASA launch tomorrow. We will post more with pictures tomorrow

Mar 30, 2008 - Sterling Casino Cruise

Sunday March 30…11:55pm Got up fairly early and went for a bike ride. We have to do this kind of thing either very early or late in the day because of having to leave our dog Whiskey locked up in the motorhome. And it gets too hot in the Florida sun to be able to do that during midday. Anyhow, we did 17 km’s (10 miles) and made it back by 9:45am in time to say goodbye to Alex before he left for Watertown. We hit the road after that, and had an uneventful drive back to Cocoa Beach. We went to the Sterling Casino Cruise at the Cocoa Beach...
