Apr 22, 2013 - Cocoa Beach, FL
4/22/13, Monday Robin was still ill Saturday and Sunday, so we went to the Doctor today and found out she was in the early stage of bronchitis. So, she received two prescriptions which we filled. By the time we got to the Kennedy Space Center, the campground office was closed so we went to Patrick Air Force Base. They have a wonderful RV Park which is right on the Banana River with the ocean on the other side of the base. Our space was about 15 feet from the water. We could hear the waves lapping the beach and there was a full moon (almost)...

We had such a good time on the cruise, we needed a few days to rest ... LOL. We stayed at Patrick AFB, where Bob once served for a short time during his early years as an AF Reserve Chaplain. Nice digs, as usual on bases. Spent some time on the beach at the base and at Cocoa Beach. Ocean views are extraordinary. Thought about going surfing ... thought about it again ... then had another Bahama Mamma!!

Oct 20, 2012 - One Step Closer to Cruising!
Today, our plan was just to get to Florida. We had to get up at the ungodly hour of 4:00 a.m. to fly from Windsor to Orlando. The weather was perfect for flying all day and everything has gone seamlessly so far. The temperature in Cape Canaveral today is 27C and breezy! Not too hard to take! Our hotel, The Residence Inn Marriott in Cape Canaveral is very nice. We were upgraded to a larger two bedroom suite so we could each have our own bed if we wanted to. LOL! Going to dinner tonight at a nice seafood restaurant recommended on Trip...

We pulled out of the campground Thursday, July 3, a little after noon. Traveling in Ralph's new truck, we enjoyed the ride down I-40 to I-26. We broke our journey in Columbia, meeting Rusty, Ralph's brother, for supper at Lizard's Thicket. Not long after that break, we merged onto I-95. Fortunately our journey to Grand Island was uneventful. We pulled in about 11:30pm and went straight to bed! Friday we collected what we needed for the beach - including the boat! It was nice to be in a house again. Our wonderful neighbors, Frank & Sharon,...

We are so lucky to have a couple of great friends who enjoy spending time with us intrepid travelers on our wanderings. John and Cathy are a blast! Long ago in a past life, I spent a bit of time in Florida on business and had the opportunity to see Epcot and Universal Studios but that was many moons ago, and vowed to return some day. Cathy long desired to visit Florida and the Magic Kingdom, and this was her big chance. They flew to Florida and stayed with us in the motor home while we explored eastern Florida; Orlando, West Palm Beach,...

After the launch we headed back to Cocoa, FL. Aunt Joyce was awesome enough to give her reservation at the Best Western in Cocoa Beach, FL to us. Mark, Rosy and Joyce decided they wanted to go to Savannah, GA to visit and stay at a bed and breakfast. They have never been and decided that it was time to make that trip. We headed to Cocoa Beach and just relaxed. First thing we did was check out Ron Jon Surf Shop. They had a band playing in the middle of the store that played just beach/70's music and they called themselves "Honey Miller", a...

Aug 31, 2010 - For The Love of Gary
My journey begins on a flight to Melbourne Florida where I will take possession of my first RV. I still have no idea what possessed me at three in the morning to bid on an RV. It was Gary's dream to drive across country, me and him escaping life like we frequently did. He's been gone a month now. Some days it seems like yesterday he was here holding my hand and others it feels like forever ago. I miss him! It only seems right that I would drive up the coast of A1A to drink margaritas and leave part of Gary behind. I guess that's why I'm...
