Aug 15, 2015 - still here

We are still in Clearwater Beach. We decided to get 2 more nights if we could for the same price. She said something about moving someone then she said ok. We really enjoy the hotel it couldn't have been in a more convienant place to the beach(shortwalk, bathrooms, food)everything is right there and usually done in that order. We have had a rain everyday but it doesn't last very long. The weather is great, just the way we like it warm some might even call it hot.haha We have been in the ocean alot. My cleansings are healing all the...

Don't wake me up

Aug 13, 2015 - Clearwater Beach

We got here yesterday by riding the rodes close to the Gulf 358 miles. We thought we would have to stay inland becuase of hotel prices at the beach were more than we wanted to pay. We had picked up the hotel discount book at the welcome center and we had been using it. But we wanted to see what the beach looked like here. Alot of the Gulf has thick loose sand and then a drop off to the water which we don't like. But here the sand is not to loose and no drop off. It's just the way we like it. We rode around the beach area twice woundering...

Don't wake me up

Apr 7, 2011 - Clearwater, Fl

Another couple of slow days. Wednesday we did a bit of shopping around St. Petersburg/Clearwater area, and then home for lunch. We sat around the pool for most of the afternoon, before walking 3 miles to the closest Winghouse. Funny thing, it was a mirror image of Hooters. Boy, that Turkey knows how to pick them! LOL Thursday we mailed off some packages back to Canada, and then went to Publix to pick up something for supper. (a pre-cooked BBQ chicken, complete with coleslaw, and macaroni salad). We relaxed by the pool for the rest of the...

Apr 5, 2011 - April 2 - 5, 2011, Clearwater, Florida

We have been trying to keep busy, touring/biking around Clearwater Beach, Clearwater and St. Petersburg areas. Turkey got his Hooter Wing fix for lunch yesterday (the 4th). It has been averaging 80 + F here since we arrived, and although the hotel has a pool, it is heated, and must be around 90 F. It actually feels more like a hot tub. We have a kitchenette so are cooking a lot of our meals for this week. There was a major thunderstorm system moved through the area today (the 5th), which prevented us from riding our bikes. Instead, we did...

Apr 2, 2011 - Clearwater, Fl

Turkey told me that he was taking me on a date today! Guess where we went…..to the Greyhound Dog Track! There were 15 races, and the first one started at 12:30 pm. We are both not avid gamblers, so we put the minimum bet on each race. It’s actually quite funny to watch. They send a fake rabbit around the track on a track, and all the dogs chase it to the finish line. Turkey studied the race program, taking into consideration the dog’s weight, age, past record, comments from their previous 6 races, and their lineage, before placing a bet. On...

Apr 1, 2011 - Clearwater, Fl

Packed up early this morning and hit the road. We checked the weather on the East coast, and North of the Carolinas just got another 8 – 12 inches of snow. Wtf? We didn’t have any reservations anywhere yet, but we don’t want to head up the coast until we’re sure the weather will cooperate with our bike riding. First we headed to Belleair Bluffs and stopped in at Maggie Mae’s for breakfast. This little café had an outside terrace, and from there we were able to watch our bikes, since they were loaded with everything that we own right now....

Nov 14, 2008 - Clearwater Municipal Marina FL

The run from the anchorage at Tarpon Springs to Clearwater Municipal Marina was a short 3 hour run and we were docked in the early afternoon after refueling. Clearwater Beach is an interesting place with all sorts of entertainment going on for families going to the beach. Beautiful white sands on the beach; trampoline bungy jumping for the kids; mime human statues; flame jugglers and a number of other happenings to keep the family entertained.

Stargazer Great Loop

May 27, 2008 - On a clear night you can almost see Clearwater

Clearwater Beach, FLA Feeling like we have been welcomed back to civilization after 4 nights at the luxurious resort on Sanibal Island known as Casa Padewer, it was particularly difficult to convince my entire crew that another all night, 132 nm trip north to Clearwater Beach was a good idea. Daniel has spent the last four days prowling all around the grounds looking for , capturing and releasing all sorts of lizards and wild life. Fishing, always a winner, was a little subdued this visit as "Rocky Raccoon" Harvey is recovering from double...
