We went up to the store where you can get all you food and supplies for camping and can rent your kayak's. We got a tandem kayak , this way Norma could take all the pictures on the water trip and I could paddle the kayak. We went down river for about a mile and then turned up stream to go to Maggie's Crack, this is where you can swim in the cold spring waters and maybe have a nice picnic. Jun 18, 2016 - SEVEN SISTERS

It was not close to noon time , so we wanted to paddle down stream and go to seven sister to eat in the afternoon hours. We had a great time going down stream and the going up stream to the seven sisters. Less people here at this place and the area is a lot bigger, this area has seven springs coming out of the limestone rock area with a wonderful white sand bottom. You can even drive down and swim in a tunnel that runs in the limestone and out the other side. We swim in the cold spring water and had lunch. As we paddled back to the kayak...

Chassahowitzka river campground is between Homosassa springs and only 14 miles north of Weeki Wachee springs. I paddled the chassahowitzka river one day then went over to Weeki Wachee springs the next day. Both places you need to paddle and swim, your family will enjoy the fun. Just 300 feet up river from the kayak ramp is the main hole spring that is about 40 feet deep. Then over about 200 feet is the seven sisters caves or tunnels more like it. Chassahowitizka is a small town between Homosassa Springs and Weeki Wachee springs for a great time on the water. You say the name as CHESSAWHISKEY THAT IS A FLORIDA INDIAN NAME THAT MEANS "land of hanging pumpkins". This was a small vine in the trees that was like a small pumpkin. The 1 st magnitude spring is the spring head of the Cassahowitizka river that has other springs runs into this river.
