Feb 5, 2020 - My Health O.k. My Trailer Health Not So Good

I went out to hook -up my trailer to my truck today so I can drive over to Melbourne, Florida for a few days of Geocaching and to go to the Geocahing Event over the weekend. I got my"PIG-TAIL" elect hook up from the trailer to put into the outlet on the truck. No elect from the truck to my turn signals, brake light or running lights. I can move it around and the lights come on for the trailer. I even tried DUCT TAPE and it did not hold the plug in in place. So I called up the dealer ship about bring in my trailer and they told me in about...

Feb 4, 2020 - Time To Plan A Summer Trip 2020

It is time to start planning our summer 2020 trip to Geocaching Events, Bluegrass festivals and other great things to do this summer. In years past I have had a heart attack one year that made us post phone our summer trip and then after that Prostate surgery in July one year. So we try to have all our doctor's appointments in Feb and the next appointments would be in September which would give us all summer to travel. I went to my prostate doctor today and he told me that I can pack up my trailer for our vacation this summer. Everything is...

Nov 13, 2019 - GARDEN TIME

It is that time of year when you get snow up north it is time to start the garden in Florida. We went to Lowe's to take a look at all the cool plants in the garden center. We wanted to get some tomatoes plants that had tomatoes on the plants to be able to get a good start. But we could not locate any plants that we big enough to have tomatoes on the plants. We got four small plants and some onion seeds and watermelon seeds just for starters. Maybe get more later on in the season.

Oct 31, 2019 - ANOTHER NAIL

I took my trailer over to the repair shop and they had to replace the tire because it had a nail in the side wall and then they found another tire with a nail in the tread of the tire. They could repair the tire but because it was late in the day I had to bring over the trailer the next day, getting out two days late on my trip.

Oct 30, 2019 - NAIL IN TIRE

I got the trailer all packed up to be able to leave to go to Hillsborough River State Park for camping over night today. Leave here around noon time and be able to get up there and set up before dark with the camper. I went out to check on the air in the truck and trailer tires, which is the last thing that I do before we take off. Check the air and check the tension bars and hitch, lights and a few other things. The right rear tire was low of air about twenty pounds, I filled up the tire and I was looking at the tire I noticed a nail in the...

Sep 16, 2019 - Rome,GA Maybe This Year

Two months ago I did some damage to my travel trailer at a state park while backing in to a camp spot in the rain. I did damage to my roof from a oak tree and damage to the left rear side from a palm tree at the same camp site, all done in the rain. So about a week after we got home I went to my RV dealer to get a estimate and took the estimate to my insurance company. After about three week I received a check for the estimate amount and waiting on the RV dealer to give me a called about when the trailer might be fixed. The trailer was...

Sep 9, 2019 - WHAT'S UP DOC ??

I had appointment for my skin doctor every six months and today was the day to go see him. He saw a spot on my chest that was a little pink and wanted to take a biopsy just in case it might be something. I got a called from the doctor that it was something minor and to come back in to have it cut out. It was malignant tumor but did not have any roots or had invaded any healthy tissue. When you get older in life it seems that thing don't work as good or they stop. Norma and I love to go camping and I have been retired since 2000, so we spend...

ROME,GA ADVENTURES

Apr 30, 2019 - LOVE BUGS

We went over to Orlando, Florida to a Munzee Event and was camping at a great KOA on a lake with some great fishing also. We had to wash the truck when we got to Orlando because of the love bugs. If you leave the love bugs on your painted truck or trailer the acid in the smacked bugs can remove the paint from you truck. So I got a brush to wash down the camper and took the truck to a car wash that day. Coming home from Orlando, Florida the love bugs covered the truck and camper, when I got home I took the truck to the car wash. Today I went...

Apr 10, 2019 - What's Up Doc !!!!!

After retirement from thirty years working for the fire dept and a lot of years as security manager of a hospital. I was ready to travel and see the GOOD OLD U.S.A. I had did a lot of tent camping with my dad and mother in Indiana growing up and of course with my boy hood friends in the near by woods. I wanted to stay in my house as a base from where we could go out into the world of camping. We have been camping since 2000. I told Norma that let's go camping while we have our health and when we can not go out camping anymore then we can...

Apr 6, 2019 - Going,going Gone Out Front

Norma has been working on the sundeck in the back yard a little at a time over the last few months. The sun deck was just a little bigger job then Norma was thinking it was going to happen. It is like eating a big bowl of ice cream after you have put in to much ice cream in the bowl. Norma did all the decking pulling up and cutting the post in the ground. I gave a hand on cutting the 2x6x8 into 2x6x4 , so we could place the boards in the dumpster bag. We got all the decking out in front for the company to be able to pick up this week some...

Mar 15, 2019 - Still At Work ( We Our Retired From Work )

We had stacked all the 2x6 decking and we had to take down the 2x6 beams today and then we could cut up all the wood into 6 foot long board to be able to have hauled out in a few weeks. We cut the 12 foot long boards in half and Norma stacked the boards off to the sides. Then we dug down around the post that was about 2 1/2 feet deep and they had cement around the wood post. We are not going to dig them out, just going to dig down around all the post to where the cement level is and then we can cut the post off and cover up what is in the...
